What can one say about such absolute pure artistic achievment? No words could ever begin to describe the greatness that this album posesses. Every single time I listen to this album (along with all of his other albums)I am absolutely moved. All of Ben's work is pure heaven. This was the first Ben Harper album that I heard and bought and I have to say it ranks among my all time favourites. In Ben Harper lies a unique talent, to create music that actually says something worth saying, music that is happy, sad, uplifting and mournful sometimes all in the same song. I can't give Ben Harper enough praise. He's the most amazing artist I've ever heard. And it seems as though I'm not alone. Every friend of mine that I've introduced his music to has become a fan. "Fight for your mind" was the first CD of his that I've owned. It's hard to describe his music, but it's safe to say that his influences are Jimmy Hendrix and Bob Marley. I keep thinking this is Ben Harper's best cd. It's a blend of soul and great songs. This cd will take you for a ride of songs that are different from each other and that bear Ben's soul in them. I have realized that what makes Ben Harper's music so special is the amount of pleasure you can feel he put in writing and singing his songs. It's all there. This is one of my collection's best. This is the best CD I have ever listened to in my life. There is a song for every mood. I noticed that someone else wrote that they cannot sleep without listening to it. I'm with you on that! It has gotten me through some rough times. Harper is the only artist who always seems to know what is in my head. He is perhaps the most honest songwriter I've ever heard. I look forward to buying his new disc.
