Free Music Review: THE BEST DAMN CD EVER MADE.
Hit: 5 Stars

THIS IS THE MOST UNBELIEVALBLE MUSICAL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF TAKING PART IN. BEN HARPERS VOICE IS SO EMOTIONALLY FUELED IT WILL SEND A SHIVER UP AND DOWN YOUR SPINE EVERYTIME YOU HEAR IT. MUSIC DOESN'T GET ANY MORE PASSIONATE THEN THIS. RAW POWER, SIMULAR TO THE FEELING I RECEIVE WHEN LISTENING TO MUSICIANS LIKE JIMMI HENDRIX OR LED ZEPPLIN. BEAUTIFUL, RAW, ANGELIC, AND ABSOLUTELY POWERFUL. THIS CD HAS IT ALL. BEN HARPER IS A MUSICAL GOD WHO CAN WEAVE MUSICAL TRIPS THROUGH ALL ASPECTS AND GENRES OF MUSIC. A MASTERPIECE THAT EVERY PERSON IN THE WORLD SHOULD LISTEN TO ON A DAILY BASIS. I BELIEVE BEN HARPERS MUSIC HAS THE POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IT IS JUST THAT DAMN GOOD! IF I HAD TO CHOOSE FAVORITE TRACKS ON THIS ALBUM I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT PLEASE BLEED IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE. YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY FEEL EXACTLY WHAT BEN HARPER IS TRYING TO SAY THROUGH HIS MUSIC. IT'S AN EXPERIENCE THAT HEIGHTENS THE EMOTIONS IN US ALL. PLEASE IF YOU READ THIS AND HAVEN'T BEEN PROPERLY INTRODUCED TO BEN HARPER AND THE INNOCENT CRIMINALS DO YOURSELF A GIGANTIC FAVOR AND GET THIS CD TO DAY. IN CLOSING I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY " THAT I'M GONNA BURN ONE DOWN". PEACE

Free Music Review: A musical MUST HAVE for Harper fans!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Inovative, creative, and rather new to the scene, Ben Harper never struggles to make sounds that have yet to be heard in music. Even in the songs he covers, he still finds ways to make them his own.

Disc 1 offers the rock/slide guitar ability of Harper on familiar tracks like "Glory and Consequence" and "Ground on Down". His other noted songs, "Burn One Down" and an amazing version of "Steal my Kisses" featuring the human beat-box Rahzel from the Roots, appear on the first disc as well, and are in short, amazing!

Disc 2 is more calm and laid back, mostly accoustic. However, the translation from electric to accoustic from disc 1 to 2 is by no means difficult for Harper. Simply put six strings in the hands of this genius and be prepared to hear music that is comparable to any other artist around today.

Borrowing slide guitar influences, and an almost Lenny Kravitz vocal sound, Harper is destined to be a revolutionary in the music industry. If you have not yet purchased this album, do it NOW! You will never regret this purchase!!

Free Music Review: Soul
Hit: 5 Stars

This live album shows how great he really is, as he shines his best in the live arena. What makes this album unique is that there is an electric and acoustic disc, and also there is no overdubbing or studio editing of the album. It is raw just like his emotions showing through the songs and music, which also makes it a good headphone album. If you are unfamiliar with Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, it is a good introduction to their music.

Highlights include: tortured vocals of Woman in You, Forgiven with an eastern intro, Faded/Whole Lotta Love that captures the spirit of the original, Roses from my Friends, In the Lord's Arms, Walk Away, Another Lonely Day, Not Fire Not Ice.

I would say it is one of the best live albums out there simply because it is true and it is very representative of the live Ben Harper concert experience.

Free Music Review: The CD Ben Harper fans have waited for...
Hit: 5 Stars

If you have ever experienced the raw energy and emotion of a Ben Harper concert, well, you probably already own this cd. If not, you're just probably waiting for money. From the moment Glory and Consequence starts until the applause fades after Faded/Whole Lotta Love, Disc 1 simply rocks with the Innocent Criminals backing Ben up. Disc 2 is Ben Harper solo/acoustic, and there are no words to describe the beauty of Mr. Harper's talent. To hear the emotion that he pours into Please Bleed sends chills down my spine. The covers that appear are done in a way to make them unique, Mr. Harper's own style is added. The harmonies on Sexual Healing are beautiful. Not Fire, Not Ice is destined to become a classic in my opinion, and this hasn't ever made it onto a studio CD yet!!! Simply put, this is a must have for any Ben Harper fan.

Free Music Review: It's a great album
Hit: 5 Stars

To keep this short, "Live From Mars" is a great album. Disc One features Ben with his band the Innocent Criminals. "Steal My Kisses" and "Burn One Down" can be found on this disc. My favorite track on the disc is the version of "Ground on Down." It's a rocking song and the this version (the live version) resembles a little bit of Jimi Hendrix. Disc Two features nothing but Ben and his acoustic guitar. Basically every track is a keeper on this disc, and its the better of the two. Overall, the whole album is a keeper. I would have liked to have a live version of "Oppression" included on the album and perhaps the quality of the sound on disc one a little better, but it's not biggy. It's just a great album.
