Free Music Notes for Live from MarsFree Music Review: Music at It's Best!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Pure and easy. Ben Harper expands the very idea of talent. His soulful voice and essential guitar sounds just fit perfectly. The Best Damn Album I've ever heard. Without any doubt one of my favorites, if not my favorite collection. I can just sit back do whatever and enjoy the music. I have no favorite songs, they're all good! For you true music fans ... Ben sets a new ground for a new age. He can touch you with his lyrics and move you with his muic. Outstanding album. For any music person, you'll find at least one song from him you'll surely enjoy. Now get off your ass and but this album if you haven't already!!!!!
Free Music Review: Simply Amazing Hit: 5 Stars
I've seen Ben Harper in concert before and wasn't all that impressed. I just wasn't that big of a Ben Harper fan until i got my hands on this double live cd. Personally i think Ben Harper does his best work by himself acoustically without the rest of the band, but that is just my preference. This cd gives you a taste of both songs with the band and by himself done acoustically. If you're not a big fan i advise you to give this cd a try, i did and would put it in my top ten list. Ben Harper is on the verge of becoming a rising star, he'll make his impact on the music world soon. Just my two cents.
Free Music Review: It's about time Hit: 5 Stars
Every time someone sees a Ben Harper show, the amazing artist gains a lifelong fan. Finally, we're given a major label release of the power his live shows. Even if you've seen Ben many times, he pulls out some surprises here, namely Rahzel of the Roots appearing on 'Steal My Kisses.' All Harper's studio albums are excellent in their own way, but unless you've seen it live, you never really catch what this fantastic outfit is all about. I imagine that after this release, Harper will be selling out major venues all over the country. Which is good for him, but a hassle for his long-time fans.
Free Music Review: A Great CD! Hit: 5 Stars
Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals' new cd is simply amazing! I own all of their other cd's, none of which measure up to Live From Mars. The band sounds so much better live than they do on the albums. This is a great cd for anybody who loves great music. As you probably know, disc 1 is Ben with the band. Disc 2 is Ben solo with an acousic. Both discs are filled with awesome music. If you don't own any Ben Harper cd's, I would definately recommend this as a first. It has songs from every album, except most of them are better live. Live From Mars is one of the best cd's I own.
Free Music Review: Put it in. Leave it in. Hit: 5 Stars
If you haven't seen Ben Harper in concert, do it. Now. If you have, you'll appreciate this CD even more. The music is classic Harper with a few fantastic covers thrown in, including an incredible version of Sexual Healing. (Though this one isn't quite as moving as the 'B' side of the Forgiven single.) Word is that everything is taken directly from the live performances. No studio instruments thrown in to fill weak spots. Good. This CD doesn't need it. It's fantastic as is. (Check out Rahzel on Steal My Kisses. It's sick! And Faded/Whole Lotta Love is blazing.)
