I just listened to this CD all the way through the other night, and i'm really blown away. But what i find hard to believe is that no other reviewer has mentioned my favorite song on the album, Woman in You! The screaming vocalization is amazing! i still can't figure out if it's Ben or someone else, but either way, it's absolutely mind blowing! Live from Mars is by far one of Ben Harper's greatest cd's. The two compilation cd's have all of his best and most popular songs. These songs include: steal my kisses, sexual healing, and the newest song, which appeared on Craig Kilborne, drugs don't work. If you haven't listened to Ben Harper, his voice is similar to Cat Stevens, David Gray, and even a little hint of Phish. I cannot say enough about his cd. Honestly, I don't understand why more people don't rave about this artist. Really, this is one of the best CDs I have ever heard. I'm considering buying another copy for my car, and another for work. Musically accomplished and lyrically stunning, every last song on this album truely moves you. This is a great double disc live set. It captures Ben and the ICs in concert. It captures all the energy of a live show. But the most amazing thing is how it goes from the rock out disc (disc 1) to the solo acoustic disc (disc 2) and nothing sounds out of place. This set basically shows how great this band is and how great Ben is. If you've never heard Ben I'd recommend picking this up. Peace

My fiance won tickets to his concert in Salt Lake City in 2001. I had never heard of him before then, after his incredible concert, he has easily made my top ten favorites list. This album is an incredible journey into the music world of this modern regae/folk/rock artist. Ben combines custom tuning, raw slides and excellent percussion in this two-hour ticket to freedom.
