The music in bend it like beckham is really awesome...since most of the other reviewers have written a lot about it, ill write more about where you can get similar punjabi stuff...I'm sure u can manage the english ;)B21 came out with some fantastics albums..check out "By Public Demand". Malkit Singh is the king of the original punjabi folk music and his "greatest hits" compilation really takes the cake. Its a sorta reggae-punjabi mix and has Jind Mahi too. Bina mistry has another good song called "dhola". And of course check out the "American Desi" soundtrack if u guys liked this soundtrack...the eternal mundeyan toh bachke rahin (beware of the boys) is there by punjabi mc...hope this helps!:D

Free Music Review: Annoyingly Catchy Songs

I admit it. Since buying this CD the day I saw the movie in June, I have been obsessed. My parents and friends are getting really annoyed because I won't stop singing the songs. I know every word to "Independence Day" already, and "Inner Smile" is addictive. Unless you absolutely loved the movie, I wouldn't recommend this for you, because it has some of the funniest quotes from the movie on it. (I just wish it had the Lesbian one!) I've been listening to this CD constantly since I got it, and I have to say there's just one thing missing.... Where's my "Ole!" song?????Free Music Review: awesome!!

First i wanna advise all you people who want the curtis mayfield track to buy the indian version of the cd.It'll come cheap and has about 18 tracks(including baddest ruffest). I really loved the movie and bought the cd just one day later.
I enjoyed noorie and the nusrat fateh ali khan track and as i'm indian i could connect with most of the punjabi tracks.I really feel they stood out compared to some of the western ones.The best thing about the cd is the dialogues included in the middle of the track,they really give a peppy feeling.

I absolutely love this CD. I loved the movie and went right out and bought the CD. I can not get enough of it. Any fan of the movie will, no doubt, absolutely love this CD. I was a little disappointed about some of the missing songs, but that did not cause me to hold a grudge. I would definitely recommend this CD to anyone, whether they saw the movie or not. It is so cultural and full of great tunes.
