Free Music Notes for Best of Schoolhouse Rock

Free Music Review: 4.5 stars, original artists
Hit: 4 Stars

Best of SchoolHouse Rock! Audio CD: Original titles from orignial recordings. Also recommended for those car rides where you can sing along with your kids. My oldest has not been exposed for a week yet, but already can sing several in parts. Rating: 4.5/5
This is the collection of "some of the SchoolHouse Rock songs made throughout the 70s and 80s. I think it is great from a nostalgic and educational point of view. Although, looking back on it I never realized in my innocent days there was a touch of Marlo Thomas boy-bashing in it. Dr. James Dobson wrote an excellent book called "Bringing Up Boys", which I would recommend to any Mom or Dad. Read this book, and you will see subtle colorations in SchoolHouse Rock! that put boys down. Nonetheless, I do like it for the basic education components, and I remember many of those songs (even before we bought this, I was teaching my kids the '3' times tables with the '3 is a magic number' song).

Free Music Review: A great way to share my childhood with my kids!
Hit: 4 Stars

"The Best of" CD was great fun for me to play for my kids the first time. It was a chance to share a part of my childhood with them. The songs are as adictive now as they were then (and as "the Mom", I don't find myself growing quickly tired of the repetitive playing of the CD). I am thrilled that my five-year-old can recite the Preamble to the Constitution. It is a fabulous CD (although I miss Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, Get your Adverbs Here) - my all-time favorites were not ALL included in "The Best of", but it does contain most of them. I hope my kids play it for my grandchildren someday!

Free Music Review: This is great...like figure eight!
Hit: 4 Stars

I just got this for my 7 and 4 year olds. Ok, I got it for me. They love it. It's one of the few cd's we can all agree on in the car. As a parent I obviously like "tricking" them to learn, though they do pretty good anyway. Some of these songs are well known to alot of adults, and half of the others you'll find you may remember as well. Remember when Saturday morning cartoons were good? Any time learning and fun come together it's a no brainer. Truth be known...I'm 38 and I still learn from these songs.

Free Music Review: Pretty good - brings back old memories
Hit: 4 Stars

Songs are great and brings back old memories of my childhood that I can now share with my Toddler. He loves to listen to them while in the car and I can see him in my rearview mirror "dancing" away (more like wiggling and swaying, but dancing none-the-less). For those of you that want to recapture your youth or go down memory lane of Saturday mornings of old, this CD is the one for you.

Free Music Review: Nice Collection, But Could Have Had Room For At Least One More Great Tune
Hit: 4 Stars

This is a good collection of those catchy favorites, as I remember enjoying them as a wee lad, but there's certainly room for Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, Get Your Adverbs Here. Small gripe, but collections invariably leave out someone's personal favorite I suppose, and I always dug that one. Glad though that these educational (and musically well-crafted ditties) are on remastered CDs at last.
