Free Music Review: Great Soundtrack for a great movie!
Hit: 5 Stars

Wow, this soundtrack is really good. I really enjoyed. Jennifer Hudson really shines. I don't know why people keep trying to compare her to Jennifer Holiday. They are both great singers, who perform the signature song from this show a little differently. Why can't people just appreciate both of them for the talents that they are. Anyway, enough of that. Listening to this soundtrack, after seeing the movie, you can really remember the mood of the movie. I am glad I got this Deluxe Edition for a little bit more money, since it has so much more content than the standard disk. I do have to say that Jennifer Hudson really does shine as a star in this movie. Don't get me wrong Beyonce's performances are great too, but Jennifer really steals the show.

Free Music Review: Amazing voices
Hit: 5 Stars

I purchased this before seeing the movie and say it has driven the excitement and anticipation to see the movie even higher. The voices from Beyonce, Anika Noni Rose and the phenomenal Jennifer Huddson have to be heard to be believed. Every time Jennifer's voice starts singing I get Goosebumps all up down my body. Jamie Foxx is always soulful and easy to listen to, but I do question Eddie Murphy and why they decided to let him sing? Why not dub his singing with someone who has a greater voice? Overall great listening if you enjoy soul especially at the time when Motown was first starting. The deluxe edition is worth the extra money for the bonus tracks including dance mixes of "One Night Only" and "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going"

Free Music Review: surprised this reviewer...
Hit: 5 Stars

you won't see a lot of reviews of broadway musicals -- or assoc motion picture soundtracks -- from this reviewer. rock n roll is more my genre. having said that, dreamgirls the movie and soundtrack surprised me.

first, i loved the loose take on motown history. second, the casting is inspired -- eddie murphy gives the best performance of his career; jamie foxx shows chameleon-like acting abilities; beyonce is a pleasant surprise and jennifer hudson...well, what can you say? it is simply amazing this undiscovered talent, voted out of american idol, can act with such confidence and sing with such passion and authority. holy cow -- she is the real thing.

Free Music Review: Amazing soundtrack to a guartneed amazing film
Hit: 5 Stars

Dreamgirls: Music From The Motion Picture 2-CD Deluxe Edition is easily one of the best soundtrack ever made for a black themed musical. The Underdogs who are currently one of the best production duo's in R&B have done an amazing job with the soundtrack. Jamie Foxx has a beautiful ballad entitled When I First Saw You where he shadows a young Teddy Pendergrass and the rest of the cast all have stand out moments. The big question to many fans is how well does Jennifer Hudson handle And I'm Telling You I'm Now Going well she knocks out of the park ! Dreamgirls: Music From The Motion Picture is now my favorite soundtrack of all time right behind Purple Rain.

Free Music Review: Great film! Great music! Great acting!
Hit: 5 Stars

All i can say is that the movie is GREAT. The music was fabulous! I apologize to the movie goers who had to endure my singing during the tunes, I tried to hold myself back but I couldn't. I haven't heard these memorable songs in decades. I used to play the original soundtrack to death, singing and acting out each song word for word, note for note. What a pleasure to see this great work come to the big screen.
Jennifer Hudson was THE QUEEN and definitely the show stopper in song and in acting abilities. Beyonce was decent. Eddie was great. Jamie was fabulous. A must have soundtrack and DVD for the collection.
