JENNIFER HUDSON STEALS THE SHOW & BOY OH BOY CAN SHE SING HER FREAGEN A _ _ OFF. I loved her on American Idol and was so PO'd when she was voted off. I also couldn't believe that Simon would criticize her. But look at her now. Wooooow. I am a huge fan. Track 10 is the best rendition of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going". I am listening to it right now & have chills. I am so glad this chick is getting the praise that she deserves. YIPPY FOR HER GOLDEN GLOBE. Having never purchased a movie sondtrack before, it was with apprehension that I purchased the Dreamgirls soundtrack. I was absolutely thrilled upon listening to it. Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce Knowles may have given two of the finest vocal performances in movie history. "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" and "Listen" are the kinds of songs a person can get thoroughly lost in. The entire soundtrack is saturated with soulfull, well written and incredibly well sung compositions. Every song from beginning to end gave me chills. If the on-screen performances are even remotely close to the soundtrack performances I know I will definitely love the movie. J. Hudson shines through as the true under-dog of this entire production and deserves the acclaim she's receiving. However, Beyonce continues to shine through with the plethora of talents she possesses. "Listen" is truly an amazing song! I would recommend this soundtrack to any and everyone that has even the smallest interest in the Dreamgirls! First off let me say this for those who are thinking about buying the soundtrack-Spend the extra cash and get this 2 disc set.
I saw the movie and loved it. So I had to get the soundtrack. All the songs are great and stand out tracks are even better. My faves are -Steppin' to the bad side,love you I do,And I'm telling you, and last but not least I ment you no harm/Jimmy's rap.
I would suggest you see the movie first then buy the soundtrack, because it enhances it. Yes all the buzz is true, Jennifer Hudson steals the movie!

I love the Dreamgirls soundtrack. I have been playing it non-stop since I purchased it. The stand outs are Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy. They were great in the movie and also deliver in the soundtrack. Hudson definitely steals the show. She belts out many great songs, especially And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going. Beyonce delivers on Listen. My other favorites are One Night Only (Disco version), Love You I Do, I Want You Baby, and Dreamgirls. I definitely recommend this soundtrack. It's the best soundtrack that I've heard in years.
