This must be one of the best movie soundtracks ever!!!! Flawless, powerful and grandiose. Jennifer Hudson's rendition of And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going is as powerful as Jennifer Holliday's. She has made this version her own in a very unique way. Not as blurted out and hold-no-punches as Ms Holliday's, but yet, very intimate, passionate and heartfelt. Comparisons will be unavoidable, but Ms. Hudson has a very different style and the musical arrangement is less Broadway and more mainstream. Highly recommended!!!!!Free Music Review: dreamy music

I bought the soundtrack before I saw the movie, so I was able to sing along when I finally saw it. (I went to see it during a slow weekday, so it was okay!) The songs are great, short and hark back to the heyday of Motown. The songs were easy to learn and reach across generations, so people of all ages can enjoy them. A great gift for you or someone who loves to sing and dance. Make sure you get the 2-disc CD. And Jennifer Hudson blew the roof off of that song! We first, we went out to see the movie, excellent! We liked the music so much I went online to find out if it was available and where and how much. I found this ablum with the additional "remix" (2-CD Deluxe Edition) which is just fantastic. Listening to the origianl score and a follow-up with the second CD with the remix, was much more than we expected. I gave the album as part of a "Valentine's Day Gift" so we all won! Could have danced the night away, let alone kareoke!!

Dreamgirls is a motion picture, but it is an adaptation of an 80s Broadway Musical. Many people had high expectations for the soundtrack and the film, and I'd say that both were exceeded.
You will not be able to stop singing along to all of the fun, emotionally charged, insanely catchy music that is on this deluxe edition of the Dreamgirls Soundtrack.
Listening to the soundtrack is almost as good as watching the film again...

The vocals on this CD (and the movie itself) are INCREDIBLE! The talent of Jennifer Hudson literally gave me chills as she sang "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going " and "I Am Changing". The depth and emotion coming through Jennifer's performance is unparalled. Beyonce's performance of "Listen"is remarkable. If you like old soul & R&B you will love these CDs. The music makes you move literally and emotionally. A Must have!
