Free Music Review: Romantic Meets Rump Shaker on Double Disc Extravaganza
Hit: 5 Stars

A few months prior to the release of this album, Beyoncé's third, she appeared on the cover of Marie Claire magazine expressing her interest to move past pop star status in favor of becoming an icon. On "I Am...Sasha Fierce," Beyoncé steps closer to achieving that goal, while flexing her creative muscles in the process.

While the general populace have come to recognize the 27-year-old starlet for her soul-infused top 40 uptempos, few are unaware of the fact that Beyoncé, unlike many of her contemporaries, is truly gifted with a powerful and expressive voice. This voice is well served by many of the tracks on the album, both on the ballad-heavy first disc and the dance-driven second disc. Songs such as "Broken-Hearted Girl" and "Smash Into You" introduce listeners to a softer side of the artist, while "Radio" and "Hello" provide a pleasantly familiar Beyoncé experience.

Though Knowles risks boring listeners by separating the ballads from the uptempos, she really is talented enough to keep listeners entertained with introspective lyrics and some truly entertaining vocal acrobatics. She gets her point across well, sounding equal parts jubilant, vulnerable, and boastful throughout the album's 16 tracks (18 if you were savvy enough to pre-order "Save the Hero" and "Why Don't You Love Me," some of Beyoncé's best material to date).

Those critical of her decision to include nearly 20 tracks on the album would do well to consider the possibility that there are also those who appreciate Beyoncé's decision to provide her audience with a fresh sound that spans a variety of musical soundscapes, both acoustic and electronic. It is simply not possible to please everyone, and it is evident that Knowles has worked arduously to keep herself from being pigeonholed.

Don't sleep on: "Halo," "Disappear," "Sweet Dreams," "That's Why You're Beautiful"

Free Music Review: I'm not a big Beyonce fan, but I am hooked on this album!
Hit: 5 Stars

I read some of the negative reviews...while they all have the right to an opinion...My opinion is I think most of the negative reviews were laughable! Just say that you didn't like the direction that she took with this new album and leave it at that. But no...got to trash her by saying stuff like she's already rich and just trying to get richer by pumping out garbage. That doesn't even make sense! Its not like she went from singing R&B to country! (don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with country, just referring to the different styles). Those that are complaining about wasting their money...the magic thing about the internet is that you can sample songs on albums before you buy! That is what I did and that is how I came to the decision to buy this album! And to those that only liked a few songs, you can also, just buy the ones you like without getting the whole album!!! Try it before you buy your next CD so nobody else has to endure yet another sob story of money wasted.

I am glad Beyonce came out with this album! I never disliked her, she is talented, but I was not a big fan! I own the first album from Destiny's Child...refused to buy any of her solo albums, to me they were the same boring thing over and over (with the exception of a few single songs)...until this one! And I am hooked! I don't think its rushed or thrown together. It's about time she changed it up a little. I don't she lost who she is at all, just showing more of her! I guess Her "used to be fans" wanted another boring album so I can see why they were disappointed!

Get the Deluxe version if you can afford the couple extra dollars, its has 4 extra songs (Smash into you, Hello, Ego & Scared of Lonley) and 2 music videos (If I Were a Boy & Single Ladies). I believe both versions have the bonus track "Save the Hero". Both have a side one/side two. Side one is like her softer side and side two is like...well...her fiercer side!

Free Music Review: the cd is fierce
Hit: 5 Stars

I'll say that at first her single "If I Were A Boy" i wasn't really feeling it but after a few more listens and watching the accompanying video. I have a new respect for the song and Beyonce as an artist. First its her first lead single without a featured single. Also it's a sparse song that lets her do her thing on the mic and she does it very well. Explaining to her man would it would be like if she did all the things that he does and doesn't even think about. How it affects their relationship as a whole.

The rest of "I Am..Sasha Fierce" lets Beyonce show the world what's really going on in her world as the first half of the cd. Is just that about what she's been through with lots of ballads and slow songs but they never wear the listener down or get boring. Her vocals are heartfelt, the lyrics are on point and the overall songs are well done and produced. As she uses a variety of songwriters and producers (but not without her own personal touch on every song) minus the first song. Also of not the Itunes version of the cd has an excellent addition with the song "Save The Hero" so check that out as well. You won't be disappointed.

The second half of the cd is her alter-ego, energy-filled and excellent uptempo dance ready songs that folks have come to know from Beyonce. She rocks each and every one of them..from "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) to "Diva" and "Radio". I'm sure that you will hear these playing at a club on the regular. While i loved "B'day" I'm more impressed with "I Am...Sasha Fierce" because "B" took a risk and made a complete album minus the featured artist craze that some artists do all too regularily.

The cd is sure to do very well for the rest of 2008 and well into 2009 without question. It's fierce...

Free Music Review: This Is...Her Best Work to Date
Hit: 5 Stars

Beyonce has always, and will always, be criticized by the public. But, when it comes to her new album I AM...SASHA FIERCE, how can you not hear the greatness of this album?

This album is her best work-to-date, even though I loved her sophomore effort, B'DAY, SASHA FIERCE is amazingly 'fierce'.

Starting off with "If I Were a Boy," the leading single, and it's an ok song...not one of my favorites. But when it comes to "Disappear," "Broken-Hearted Girl," "Halo" (second single), "Ave Maria," "Smash Into You," and "Satellites," we see a new side of Beyonce's we've never seen before, and all these songs can easily pass off as classics, and that's exactly what they sound like.
Disc 1 is comprised of all slow songs, which I was nervous at first to listen, but once I heard them, I instantly fell in love. THIS IS A NEW BEYONCE...so check it out!

Overall, Disc 1 on I AM...SASHA FIERCE is amazing, you just have to take a listen to the exquisiteness of it!

Now on Disc 2 on I AM...SASHA FIERCE, I was a little disappointed by "Radio," "Video Phone," and partly with "Hello."
"Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" is the highlight of Disc 2. Easily following "Sweet Dreams" (formally known as "Beautiful Nightmare"), "Ego" (second single), and "Diva" is a really fun 'female' version of Lil' Wayne's "A Milli."

I definitely recommend this album! I will say that most of mainstream listeners will really enjoy Disc 1 of SASHA FIERCE, so I recommend checking this CD out. It's a really great album, more mature, more focused, and less 'Pop Diva' like Beyonce (circa "B'Day," "Dangerously In Love.")
