Free Music Review: "The Seer" Stuart Adamson

One of my favorite groups from the 80's Big Country had this as their follow up album to "The Crossing". I really always liked the freshness of the sound Big Country brought to the 80's scene. Stuart Adamson's poetic lyrics flow as well as the melodies, bass, and accompaniments. My favorites are "Look Away", "The Seer" with vocals by Kate Bush, "Teacher", "I Walk The Hill", "One Great Thing", "Hold The Hold The Heart","Remembrance Day", "The Red Fox", "The Sailor",and the disco mix "One Great Thing". With some classic guitar riffs that stand the test of time and great melodic lyrics The Seer is well worth a listen many times over. I really appreciate the musicmanship of these guys: Stuart Adamson: Vocals, Guitar, E-Bow; Mark Brzezicki: Drums, Percussion, Backing Vocals; Tony Butler: Bass, Bass Pedals, Backing Vocals; and Bruce Watson: Guitar, Mandolin, and Sitar. Bonus on the song "The Seer" is Vocals by Kate Bush. On the song Remembrance Day & Eiledon Vocals by June Miles-Kingston and Bodhran Davie Duncan
Bonuses on this re-release is 12" mix of "Look Away", and disco mix of "One Great Thing". There is also a personal note of Stuart Adamson in the pull-out sleeve which also includes lyrics.

Digitally remastered 1996 reissue on Mercury of their third album for the label, originally released in 1986 & now with four unmarked bonus tracks: 'Song Of The South', 'Look Away'(12' Mix), 'One Great Thing' (Disco Mix) and 'Giant'.
