The first place i ever heard Big L spit was on Represent which is the first DITC group album on wax from the timeless Runaway Slave album. I already knew Big L was furious on the mic but didn't really realizes the punchlines this man had. While this whole album may sound like a freestyle to many i see structure, some may think the production is plain but i think its classic. I love the sound and vibe to this album very dark and carries the new york sound which i love. Big L says "I wasn't poor i was po i couldn't afford the o.r." many ill lines like this come up threw out the album. The single Put It On is a true gem and in my opinion one of the best hip hop singles of all time. MVP is a nice commercial hit. 8 iz Enuff is my favorite joint on the whole album. Dope lyrics from every artist. Street Struck hit me by surprise, seeing a positive message on an album as dark as this only proves why golden age hip hop is the best.
Style - Dark, hardcore.
Lyricism - dope notch maybe one of the best.
Beats - lord finesse, showbiz, buckwild. need i say more
Vibe/Sound - not really a party album or summer but still smooth.
Feature - all guest lay down dope verses even jay-z and cam
I cant see where this album loses points, not shippable tracks lots of replay value what more can i say.
