Free Music Notes for Lifestylez Ov Da Poor and DangerousFree Music Review: GREASTEST of ALL TIME!!!!!!! Hit: 5 StarsBig L is the best rapper that has ever lived. No one has been able to even come near him, not Biggie not 2 Pac no one. Buy anyone of his albums and you will never listen to Chingy, Ludacis, 50 Cent. All those guys are bubble gum rappers or popstars. THIS IS RAP!
Free Music Review: Yo big L Hit: 5 StarsFirst off i am not a kid i just did this because i didnt want to have to sign in and stuff but Yo big L is a great rapper, But, To say he is the greatest is way out of the question. Yea he was good even with only one full album " while he was alive". Im not saying he sucks im just sayin all you people who says hes the greatest r garbage. To say he is in the same category as Biggie, 2pac, Nas. Eazy, or many others i just had to write a review on that. Plus if u did ur homework u would see he got kicked off this record label after this album wasnt doin so good. Why wasnt it doin so good u ask? Because peoples like Nas, Biggie, 2pac. Wutang, bone thugs, and mobb deep had their albums out in around the same time.
No disrespect to the man Big L REST IN PEACE
Free Music Review: Classic debut from one of the all-time greats -- R.I.P. Hit: 5 StarsBig L came hard and correct with this classic debut, and only album he released while alive. Better then his post-humous "Big Picture" it's a shame he died way before his time and before he got to blow up and get the props he deserved. Short, at only 12 songs, you get to hear some of the rawess talent ever on a microphone in the rap game. Guests only rap on 2 songs so you get to hear a lot of this talent. Of the 12 songs, 1 Is a classic, 1 is ok, the other 10 are good or great songs. Production is great for his raw, gritty, street style and handled by some very good producers. Lord Finesse does 5 songs, BuckWild does 4, Showbiz does 2, and Craig Boogie does 1. A must have album from a legend in the rap game and the one who inspired a slew of Harlem rappers after him.

Free Music Review: Big L - greatest of all time? Perhaps. Hit: 5 StarsSome people say L can't rightfully fight for the greatest of all-time title, because he was only able to record one full-length album in his life time. I don't agree with that at all. It takes multiple albums to be great? Chingy's put out three albums, does that mean he's a more qualified contendor to the throne? It's ridiculous that people believe you need to put out a dozen albums to go down as a legend. Let me ask something; how many times do you find yourself listening to this album? I find myself listening to this single album more than I listen to anything 2Pac or Jay-Z ever released put together. More than B.I.G.'s two classics, more than Nas' star-studded catalogue, more than MF DOOM's 10 classic releases under different aliases. That's just how great this album is.
The only person who deserves the "G.O.A.T." title more than Big L is GZA, and that's the only reason I can't declare Big L the undisputed heavyweight of the hip-hop world. However, let's not argue for days on end about who the illest emcee in the game was, or is; let's focus on this classic album, which is one of the greatest releases from any era of hip-hop.
If there's one thing I can say with the utmost confidence, it's that Big L, to this day, remains the punchline king. That's a title no one will ever take from L; the man had a knack for metaphores, both complex and simple, both hilarious and deadly serious. One moment he'd be threatening to have your family dressed in all black, and the next, he'd be quipping that he "wouldn't give a chick ten cents to put cheese on her Whopper."
He had a voice, and flow like no one else. L's voice was commanding, yet smooth. When he spoke, you had no choice but to listen - yet, at the same time, he didn't just use this to draw the attention of his foes and fans alike, but he used this skill to pick up fly honies, too. His flow, and posture are still unmatched today; he had this confident swagger that was just so evident in his music, and his flow was crisp, and clear. He'd also put an emphasis on the final sylabble of each rhyme, adding that extra force to each of his rhymes.
Every track on here is a standout. There is no singling out, simply for that reason. The production was handled by an all-star team of underground cats, who provided the perfect music to compliment L's flow. Grimey, and dark, much like everything else coming from New York in the early-to-mid nineties, yet funky, and soulful enough to seperate it from the rest of the pack musically. Whether Big L was proclaiming he was the Most Valuable Poet on the M.I.C., visiting Da Graveyard with Jay-Z and his crew, or the Danger Zone with Mase, Big L brought the heat like few can.
Free Music Review: This Crazy Cat Got Some Sick Flow - Intoxicating!! Hit: 5 StarsBig L has to be the most underrated, unappreciated, overlooked, MC of all time. I just bought this album and never heard of him until last week. My discovery of L was like uncovering the lost city of Atlantis. This guy is no joke!! After listening to this album for a week straight, some of the other MC's I listened to started to sound wack to me. "I Just Don't Understand It!!" If rap was a game, Big L would be MVP. He makes today's MC's sound like infants, like the 50 Cents and Young Joc's of this world. I can't believe MTV didn't even mention Big L as one of the best MC's of all time. This shows that stupid young punks don't know what real hip hop is.
