This is a very cute musical. Do not be fooled this is a mark twain book, not your Dr.Suess. So use caution and don't buy this unless you can listen to the quality of music and not nessicarily the lyrics. But I love the story and it is a great buy. But seeing it live is really good. I just performed in this play and I thought it was the best show ever. The CD is great and the play is even better. One of my favorite songs is "the boys" because it is such a fun song to do. "Muddy Waters" is the heart of the play and the strongest song. The play is fantactic, a must-see!Free Music Review: Big River Broadway CD

When I first heard this album, Roger Miller was already dead. I actually cried when I realized this; I couldn't write him a fan letter to tell him how wonderful I thought it was. Well, I COULD have written him, but the letter was probably not going to be delivered.

I saw this Musical for the first time on broadway went I was maybe 4 or 5, when it first came out.... and on the way out of the theater I was singing most of the songs already.... Rodger Miller was an amazing song writer.... This is a great recording, and my family's favorite Musical... A MUST HAVE....
