Free Music Notes for Best of Bill CosbyFree Music Review: Just like old times Hit: 5 Stars
One of the happiest memories I have from my childhood, was when the whole family was still together, we just moved into a new house with a brand new Montgomery & Ward 8-track player with a record player on top. In the evenings, we would play our "The Best of Bill Cosby" record and laugh like we were insane. Comedy is much different now... still funny... some VERY funny, but nothing seems as funny as what I remember from that record about playing buck-buck, stories of Old Wierd Harold, etc... After decades of not having that record, I found it online and bought it for my mother. We played it and it and for just a litle while we were all back in the late 70's / early 80's laughing like we were insane, even though we already knew every word before he even said it. Good times.
Free Music Review: Bill Cosby is the Funniest Comedian Ever! Hit: 5 Stars
I was first introduced to Bill Cosby's work through his TV show, "The Cosby Show." Later, I discovered his stand up performances. While shopping in a used record store recently, I picked up this release on vinyl. I love it! His skits about the Bible are hysterical, as is his "Fat Albert" routine. And since I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, I found his skit on driving in San Francisco particularly funny. "They make Lombard Street go straight down, and since they're not satisfied with you killing yourself that way, they put all these twists and curves in there!" I could not even breathe. Another thing I like about Bill Cosby is that he can make you laugh without talking about sex, or using foul language. Anyone in need of a good laugh should pick up this record.
Free Music Review: A Comic Genius Hit: 5 Stars
I rarely buy comedy albums, in fact I hadn't bought a comedy album since the Firesign Theater when I was in college. The problem is that you hear the routine once and the album never gets back onto your turntable. But I had such fond memories of hearing Bill Cosby's albums at friend's houses and almost peeing my pants from laughing so hard, I had to make an exception. Whether he's talking about his childhood (Old Weird Harold, Buck Buck) or adding details left out of the Bible (Noah--my personal favorite), the man is a genius. And he does it without profanity! These are some of Cosby's funniest bits. Kudos to Rhino for reissuing this 1969 album. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Free Music Review: Top comedian in top form Hit: 5 Stars
One of the tests of a comedy routine or a comedian's delivery to determine its rating is whether or not it brings a wide smile or a chuckle from you; even if you've heard or seen it a hundred times.
I must've heard the entire LP (I own it on vinyl)hundreds of times, and yet, every time is as if I am listening for the first time. I can't help but laugh, hearing the conversation of Noah with God, or condescending with Junior Barnes since winter with hate in mind for a glorious summer vengeance. This CD is a must for any aspiring comedian or for any person with a sense of humor. A great record!
Free Music Review: Classic Bill Cosby Hit: 5 Stars
I remember listening to Bill Cosby's stand-up routines when I was a kid, and I always enjoyed them. Now that I'm an adult, I still enjoy them every bit as much. This disc is a great sampling of some of my personal favorites, especially the Noah sequences and Fat Albert. Bill Cosby is hilarious, and even better, he keeps it clean. As a parent, it's nice to find entertainment that's neither offensive to me nor detrimental to my children. For some good clean fun, check out Bill Cosby.
