Free Music Notes for Billy Elliot: The Musical (Original Cast Recording)Free Music Review: Billly Elliot Hit: 5 Stars
Wow, what a musical. This is the best one Elton John has written. The subject, Billy Elliot, learning ballet in a working class English coal mining town is great. The movie was excellent but this sounds so much better. I am only sorry that the musical has not come to Broadway yet. Just wait until it opens! It will run forever. Get this album now.
Free Music Review: Blown Away Hit: 5 Stars
At age 12 I saw the original production of "Oklahoma". Then, yeah God,I saw the orginal "South Pacific, "kiss Me Kate", My Fair Lady", "Mame","Gypsy" AND let me tell you loud and clearly "Billy Elliot, The Musical" is right up there!!! Don't miss it. I saw it in London and can't wait to bring my grandchildren to the N.Y. production.
Free Music Review: What !!! ... No Broadway Cast Recording? Hit: 5 Stars
Can anyone tell me the last time a show won the Tony Award for "Best Musical" and there were no plans for a cast recording? I don't think it's ever happened and apparently we will have to be content with the London Cast recording as there are no plans to release a CD of the Broadway production.
Free Music Review: wonderful music Hit: 5 Stars
We saw the production in London. It was very enjoyable. The lyrics are a bit risque but reflect the times in this coal mining town during the strikes of the 1980's.
It was difficult getting tickets. We had to wait 6 months to get tickets to the broadway production. We recommend this CD.
Free Music Review: Almost as good as seeing the show Hit: 5 Stars
I was a little disappointed that this was NOT the original BROADWAY cast, but the London cast. I wanted to hear the Tony Award winners. But beyond that, the recording is nearly as good as being at the show. All the major songs and dialogue associated with them are included.
