Free Music Review: Most of the best of Billy Idol

The first CD in this set is a great compilation of his most well-known songs, which that sense for a Greatest Hits album. If you're a rabid billy fan, the first cd will seem a little short to you, but if you want a single disc with all your favorite songs, just burn one.
This is a great introductory CD to a new fan... it has a diversity of songs that makes the compilation very honest, showing the listener all the different things Billy is in to when he makes music.
The DVD housing all of Idol's music videos is a first, and is amazing, making this greatest hits much more worth buying than the previous one, though, incidentally I have both, and I can't complain with either. The two new songs have his *new* sound, which began to develop commercially somewhere between the end of Cyberpunk and the making of Speed. They're good songs, but it's Billy's perfect, over-confident delivery that makes them what they are.
I'm very pleased with this; It's re-sparked my enthusiasm about this next phase of his career.

From the minute I heard Billy Idol sing Rebel Yell back in 1984 I was hooked.....and I've never looked back!
This new compilation of hits is especially fantastic because it includes a DVD of his greatest music videos. This man was born to be in front of the camera and he used his looks to his full advantage back in the heyday of MTV.
Another reason to purchase this CD/DVD set is because of the two great new Idol songs: "John Wayne" and "New Future Weapon". "John Wayne" especially has the sound to be a hit today. Billy's voice is just as fabulous, if not better 20+ years later and is an INCREDIBLE live performer. Check him and his great band out on tour this summer and you will NOT be disappointed!!

I own a different copy of Billy Idol's greatest hits--the version that I believe was put out around 1997. However,there are some hits from Devil's Playground and other various songs that is on THIS deluxe edition.
Let me just say this for anyone wanting this deluxe edition. I bought this not for the greatest hits on cd--that was a given, but solely for the DVD videos. Every one of the videos are spectacular, colorful--just the way I remembered them! I paid $14.99 at a small record store--the album was shrink wrapped--so it was new.
Billy Idol's image and music are larger than life and I highly recommend this to anyone who is just getting in to Idol or for a huge fan !

I have been a Billy fan since I was a kid, and he just gets better with age!!! John Wayne is a GREAT song, one of the best songs out there right now! All his greatest hits are on here, and are still great to listen to after all these years!!
The videos are AWESOME!! Just really takes you back to younger, more care-free days of watching MTV and listening to all your favorite CASSETTES and ALBUMS. Billy's voice has always made me shiver, and when you can actually SEE that perfect specimen snarling at you, life is pretty darn SWEET!!!!!!!!

I own 3 of Mr IDOL's GREATEST compilations ( VITAL IDOL, GREATEST HITS and Idol songs 11 of the best) and probably you also own at least one of the 5 greatest hits By BIlly
but this is the best one;by far WHY? because it has the killer dvd together!incluiding great,excellent masterpieces of an era that wont come back,.(raw outrageous videos full of power and glory)
The DVD makes this package WORTH!!
