A friend gave me this album, and I have played it constantly. Some will dercy the lack of Piano Man, but I really didn't notice. Maybe that makes me less than a slavishly devoted fan, but I really liked the mix of old, new, fun, and ever-changing in this 2-Cd set. Some old standards are dusted off and belted out; covers are done; intensity is all over the album. I wish I had seen this concert live- I had to settle for Fort Lauderdale- and that was awesome. Buy this CD, and thank me later- it will keep you tapping your toes for hours.Free Music Review: Billy Joel is better than ever

I have been a fan since high school and have never been dissappointed with any release of this artist. This live album is no exception. Its crisp and his voice sounds great. If you are an old fan or a new one, I think you will agree that this is some of the best music ever written and will stand the test of time. I respect his desire not to release new material when he is not ready. Rather than get a bad record. He has never done that and I dont expect him to start now. I had the pleasure of seeing Billy Joel live as part of his farewell tour -- and this CD is almost as powerful as the live show! His personality and talent shine through. "Angry Young Man" is as good as it's ever been, and the newer tracks he's added round out the show. I am sad he won't be performing like this anymore -- and this way, I get to keep a piece of the concert to play over and over again.A must have for a long time concert fan!

The editor for amazon said that the album was good, but Billy's talking was boring and pretentious. He claims Billy is full of himself. Any fan of Billy knows that he has a somewhat large ego, but what right does a reviewer have to say it. Most Billy fans would agree that they love to here Billy talk. I went to the concert and it was great! It was one of the best concerts I've been to and what a way to end the millenium. What made it so great was that he's a great performer as well as a writer, and he played his "old time" hits. The concert wasn't really about him per se, but it was a millenium celebration with his music. Of course, the wine helped too. ;-)
