Free Music Review: Rock on Billy

Billy Klippert. Just sounds like anyone bearing this name should be rocking it out in front of millions of people. That is so true. Billy has proven once and for all the Idol alumni don't have to be packaged. The most Idol-like song was his cover of Levon, which, in my opinion, didn't really have to be on there, because we've all heard him sing it before and he sings it better live anyway. But the rest of the cd is old-school rock, from the adoring "Lindsay" and other gentler songs such as "Just Another Day", "Lost in a Song" and "Reckless Beauty", to the heavier "With You", "Again", and especially "Scars". Klippert never loses his sense of self and his superb voice is shown especially in my personal favorite, "Days are Numbered." He even co-wrote 6 of the 11 songs, which is always a plus. After listening to this cd literally hundreds of times, all I can say is, finally, a rocker with an amazing voice, who doesn't just stand up and scream and who obviously really cares about his art.
