THIS IS A MUST FOR ANY FAN OR SOMEONE SEARCHING CROSBY AND HIS VOICE. BING WAS TOPS IN FILMS, RECORDS AND RADIO THEN TV. NO ONE HAS MATCHED THAT- NOT SINATRA , NOT PRESLEY NOT COMO ALL OF WHOM I RESPECT. MARTIN COMES CLOSEST. BUT NO ONE REACHED HIS SUCCESS IN FILMS OR RECORDS AND RADIO. MANY PEOPLE SAY HE CROSBY AND THEN SECONDLY CHAPLIN REACHED SO MANY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.PUT THIS ON AND SING ALONG WITH BING.

Going Hollywood, Vol. 4: 1944-1949 [ORIGINAL RECORDINGS REMASTERED] 2CD SET Poster

There wasn't much time for Bing to relax after completing work on "Road To Utopia" in March 1944 (covered in Vol. 3 - JASMINE JASCD 121/2) before he returned to Paramount on May 1 to appear in "Here Come The Waves". Those few short weeks were occupied with recording for the AFRS programmes 'G.I. Journal', 'Personal Album' and 'Command Performance' and there was his very successful weekly radio show for NBC - the Kraft Music Hall. A lot of time was also spent on fund raising events many of which involved golf matches, all designed to help the war effort. The fourth volume (and another double CD) from JASMINE, chronicling Bing Crosby s highly successful Hollywood film career and as before using a mixture of studio and film soundtrack recordings. Meticulously compiled and annotated by expert Geoff Milne. 54 tracks, over 2 hours playing time & 16 page booklet.
