Free Music Notes for VoltaFree Music Review: fearless original Hit: 5 Stars
Fearlessly following her own muse, Bjork creates an interesting album full of full throated singing, funky beats and noise, and interesting textures. While I don't like a couple of tunes (Dull Flame of Desire and Declare Independence), the rest of the album is engaging and evocative and works well as an album, linked by noises, segues, brass sounds, and beats. Her best album in a few years. Four/Four-and-a-half stars.
Free Music Review: Bjork goes back to what works Hit: 5 Stars
I love an artist who experiments, grows, develops and evolves. But, I must admit, Bjork's last two contributions,'Medulla' and 'Drawing Restraint 9' were a little too far into the experimental with Icelandic lyrics and Japanese music. 'Volta' is much more like her earlier albums with English lyrics and recogonizable tunes. If you liked her five CDs previous to 'Medulla', you will like 'Volta'.
Free Music Review: More Brass Hit: 5 Stars
I'm a fan, and was hesitant of purchasing this release because of the negative reviews. I'm pleased! Thank goodness for artists like Bjork for not making cookie cutter music (although I don't mind a cookie or two).
I'll see if my [...] like it. They like a few tracks from her earlier works.
I love this release...just as much as I love Medulla!!!
Free Music Review: Well it's another bjork cd Hit: 5 Stars
What more is there really to say? Yeah she lets timbaland help out a bit, but it's till classic bjork.... Just no mike patton this time around to make throat noises with.
anyway by this point in her career you either are just gonna like it or not. she's consistantly good, yet she does progress further, but nothign too drastic. In my opinion
Free Music Review: AMAZING Bjork Always Delivers! Hit: 5 Stars
I love it "Wanderland" "Innocence" and "Declare Independence" are gems! Bjork never fails to bring you into another realm of artistry, Volta is clean, edgy, and quite trendy! Everything from the album art, lyrics and production is sick! Love you Bjork!
