Free Music Notes for Live at the GreekFree Music Review: What a grouping. Hit: 5 Stars
Jimmy Page joining the Crowes is just so fitting.
I've always thought that these guys resembled Zeppelin. I've always enjoyed the songs that they've done. Them doing Zeppelin tunes was just a natural evolution for their style of playing. Then, when they were able to get Jimmy Page, it just made it a real winner.
I'm so glad that I'm finally able to hear high quality live perfomances of classic Zeppelin tunes.
Starting with Celebration Day, to In My Time Of Dying, to Your Time Is Gonna Come, the first disk has some great hits. It also includes footage and photos of the concert.
The second C.D opens with The Lemon Song, Nobody's Fault But Mine, and ends with Whole Lotta Love.
The Crowes with Jimmy Page work together very well, like a finally tuned guitar. They are perfectly great together and seem like they were made for eachother.
I highly recommend this album for all you Zeppelin fans who've been longing to hear their favorite songs recorded live and with digital quality that can't be reproduced from the original released material.
Free Music Review: Superb performance and sound quality Hit: 5 Stars
A friend of mine asked me to sell some used CD's for her on Ebay, and this was one of them. I decided (for some reason) to give it a listen as I was headed out the door one Sunday afternoon. My attitude was "Let me hear how much this sucks". After all, Jimmy Page, Black Crowes...yeah OK this is gonna suck like a vacuum cleaner.
I came home, called my friend and asked if I could keep this one for myself. Yes, it's that good. Simply put the energy of this performance via the Black Crowes is amazing, and then you add Page to the mix and you have one hot band. I would have bet that no way could this band measure up to Led Zeppelin, but they come mighty close for my money.
Another point is the sound...it literally jumps out of the speakers. Not sure how they recorded it but damn it hits you square in the chest, just like a well recorded concert should. Yes it's a trip down memory lane for Page but for me it's well worth a listen and a must have if you're a Crowes for Zep fan. Just go and buy it already!

Free Music Review: the closest thing to a zep show. Hit: 5 Stars
i recently passed up the opportunity to spend tons of cash on lawn seats to the Croww/Page show. I decided instead to invest in this truly unique album. More than just highlight the formidable talents of the Crowes as back-up band with Page taking his turns at lead, this album documents an exciting and rare opportunity to step back in time and into the future all at once. First of all the band is tight and loose at the same time-they groove and sparkle and are very much in sync with one another. It is an overused rock cliche to say "reinvent" when it comes to an album like this. i think these guys were having too much fun to reinvent. I can only imagine the giddy pleasure of backing one of your rock idols-and then to do it without sounding as if you are backing one of your heroes, but rather just enjoying the moment. It's a fantastically fresh and respectful outing. As a fan of both bands, I can wholeheartedly recomend this disc. Enjoy!
Free Music Review: Great substitute to the real thing Hit: 5 Stars
I am an unashamed die heard Led Zeppelin fan. Robert Plant is supposed to be irreplaceable. So I was pleasantly surprised and rapt to hear Chris Robinson singing Led Zep songs. I don't think they were trying to be replicas of Led Zep, however, with Jimmy Page at the helm, the arrangements were always going to be extremely similar to the originals. Chris has pulled off the singing of the songs with aplomb and highlights just how good a singer he is. The Black Crowes is a tight band here and provides greater depth to these collection of songs with the additional guitar in these arrangements than some of the originals.
Jimmy Page is perhaps playing some of the best solos since the Led Zep days. The highlights on this album are Ten Years Gone, Heartbreaker, Out On The Tiles, In My Time Of Dying and a version of an old Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac) song "Oh Well".
This album is a must have for both Led Zep and Black Crowe fans.
Free Music Review: Just excellent!!! Hit: 5 Stars
This is undoubtless Jimmy Page`s best post- Zeppelin era album. Although Robert Plant insulted the Black Crowes some time ago, he should realice that they are actually a much better company for Jimmy than HE was in the No Quarter album. No weak tracks on this double Cd; Zeppelin covers and Rock and Roll classics (B.B. King, Fleetwood Mac) are equally spectacular. Chris Robinson squeezes the lemon almost like Plant did, Sven Pipien plays a superb bass solo on "The Lemon Song", Rich Robinson and Audley Freed are an incredible guitar duet, and Steve Gorman (although not as good as Bonham, of course) is a unique drummer. What can I say about Jimmy? The only thing I know is that his time as guitar player hasn`t come yet. This album deserves 5 stars for it`s play, sound and production, and is much better than "The Song Remains The Same". All of this plus an enhanced program featuring live footage.
