Free Music Review: Beyond Fantastic!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I love Led Zeppelin and very much enjoy The Black Crowes and this album blew my @#%! mind!!! The song selection and playing are beyond perfection. This is the best live album released this decade,so far, and is certainly one of my most played albums ever. I take this album to work, on vacation, pretty much everywhere. Definately one of the albums where I got my money's worth and then some. This one is always on my player and never gets tired. The Crowes wiseley avoid the more obvious tracks like "Stairway To Heaven", instead focusing on lesser played deep cuts like "What Is And What Should Never Be", "Out On The Tiles" and old Yardbirds songs like "Shapes Of Things To Come". I first heard of this album when it was only available through The Crowes web site and almost ordered it, but was glad I did not, because when it was released in stores, it had bonus tracks on it. In short, this a must have classic.

Free Music Review: Return of the Monster Riffs
Hit: 5 Stars

Zep had, hands down, the best and heaviest riffs in rock and roll history, all penned by one Jimmy Page. The resurrected versions found on these discs are, if anything, even meaner and more massive after their long hibernation. Listen to the sample of the Lemon Song. It's like a soundtrack for the apocalypse. It swings like a wrecking ball. Makes Linkin Park sound a little whiny doesn't it?

OK, Page's solos aren't 100% on point, but he still gets 5 stars because any one of these riffs can eat entire other bands for breakfast. Make sense? OK, put it this way...Jimmy had to do a lot of drugs to be able to go to that strange, dark place where these riffs were living and drag them kicking and screaming back to the land of the living. For that we will forgive him a few off notes here and there.

If you've got any testosterone, for God's sake, get this.

Free Music Review: Just excellent!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is undoubtless Jimmy Page`s best post- Zeppelin era album. Although Robert Plant insulted the Black Crowes some time ago, he should realice that they are actually a much better company for Jimmy than HE was in the No Quarter album. No weak tracks on this double Cd; Zeppelin covers and Rock and Roll classics (B.B. King, Fleetwood Mac) are equally spectacular. Chris Robinson squeezes the lemon almost like Plant did, Sven Pipien plays a superb bass solo on "The Lemon Song", Rich Robinson and Audley Freed are an incredible guitar duet, and Steve Gorman (although not as good as Bonham, of courese) is a unique drummer. What can I say about Jimmy? The only thing I know is that his time as guitar player hasn`t come yet. This album deserves 5 stars for it`s play, sound and production, and is much better than "The Song Remains The Same". All of this plus an enhanced program featuring live footage.

Free Music Review: About as close to the real thing as possible
Hit: 5 Stars

To those of you Led Zeppelin fans who were born too late to see them live, this is a great way to experience the magic of it all. I was pleased to find many of the newer, lesser-known hits such as "In my time of dying," and "Ten Years Gone," included in the mix. As Led Zeppelin progressed they began to emphasize the blues element that was already present in their music. The fact that these songs were chosen worked out great because Chris Robinson and the Crowes' music is drenched with a heavy southern blues vibe. Robinson is just as incoherent as the infamous Plant, which provides a sense of realism to the experience. One thing I missed was conversation in between songs. The music is great, but its fun to hear them introduce songs, or explain how the tune came about. Even so, its a great CD. Pick it up as soon as you can.

Free Music Review: An Excellent Combo!
Hit: 5 Stars

It seems like a perfect marriage, combining Jimmy Page with sometime-Led Zeppelin wannabees The Black Crowes, one of my favorite bands of the '90s. It's mostly Zepp covers with some blues songs thrown in there. The selection of Zepp tunes seems to fit well with the Crowes sound and Chris Robinsons voice range. There's several songs from "Physical Graffiti" like "In my Time of Dying", "Custard Pie" and "Sick Again" which are less popular radio staples but sound great here. And Robinson pulls off Robert Plants vocals with little trouble. The band plays with enough energy to keep this collection interesting to listen to. And Jimmy Page's guitar work seems to be in top form again like he was in last years Page-Plant tour. If you're a Black Crowes and/or Zeppelin fan I suggest you check it out. Great Stuff.
