Free Music Notes for Live at the GreekFree Music Review: JIMMY + CROWES = MAGIC Hit: 5 Stars
Ever wonder what Led Zeppelin would have sounded like if Jimmy had gotten Steve Marriott of Humble Pie(Pie's manager threatened to break Jimmy's fingers)? In the early days of the Crowes, they were compared to Lynyrd Skynyrd, because of their Southern background. Ludicrous, to be sure. Few noticed Chris Robinson's eerie vocal resemblance to Marriott(who spent his last years in the Crowes' hometown of Atlanta, coincidentally). If you have doubts, listen, for instance, to Pie's classic "30 Days in the Hole". That being said, this is something of a historic musical "what if". Jimmy and the Crowes together are a rock'n'roll machine. If you are a Jimmy Page or Crowes fan, you owe it to yourself to own this CD.

Well Well Well! Who would ever believe that these two rock giants would ever come together! The evercolourful riffs/Licks of Rich Robinson displays a great back-drop to the everlasting, evernatural sound/tone/Licks of the ROCK GOD, Mr Jimmy Page. When these two come together they reproduce some of the greatest songs to hit the rock world. I first heard of this via the Black Crowes Website, and from that day, it has left me stund... amazed! If anyone wants to hear rock 'n' roll the way it should be played do yourself a favour.... BUY THIS ALBUM...NOW, Because in five years time, ten years time even twenty years time people are going to look back at this timepiece and still be left breathless.
Free Music Review: Finally, Zep sung properly Hit: 5 Stars
It's almost as if this HAD to happen at some point: some of the highlights of the Led Zeppelin catalog sung by a real blues vocalist. Although I will always appreciate the density of the original material's production values (and John Bonham's smack-down style), poor Bobby Plant appeared to be cursed with an inability to sing on key for longer than a few bars. That's why it is a BLESSING to have Chris Robinson tackle some of these hot chestnuts; by flexing a REAL set of pipes, he succeeds in putting some cojones back into the material. The band is super-tight and Page is right in the pocket. Outstanding stuff, and crucial for any self-respecting Led Zeppelin fan.
Free Music Review: Jimbo lives long and loud with the Black Crowes crowd. Hit: 5 Stars
Jimmy Page and the Crowes have resurrected the greatness of Led Zeppelin. That's not to say they are as great as Zep in their prime, but it is saying this recording does the memory of Led Zeppelin proud. Page, unlike many old rockers, has not lost his touch. He doesn't play in the past. He brings his great sound to the next generation without insulting the one that cut their blues/metal teeth on Led Zepp I, and II and matured through Physical Graffiti and Coda. This is not to short change the Crowes. Their anthems need no apologies or defense, they are the worthy carriers of the torch and all of the vitality and excitement it brings.
