I am in shock from some of the reviews, what kind of music are you all listening too? What CD in the past 2 years has come out that rocks more than this one. I can't stop listening to it. I thought the bands hey day was over when I heard By Your Side, except for Horse Head that CD was terrible. Lions is great start to finish, Every song is great and Don Was did a great job of production. The Black Crowes are keeping the torch lit on great rock and roll and give me faith that Boy Bands do not rule the industry.Free Music Review: Ferocious

Lions is the perfect title for this disc as the Crowes come out roaring. The guitar work is ferocious! The disc is best described as "atmospheric". It is often said that one's life is shaped by the experiences one goes through. It is clear that the boys time with Jimmy Page has impacted them. Great riffing throughout. The Crowes sound confident and, most importantly, they sound like they are having fun. This one is sure to become a classic. What are you waiting for? As the proud owner of all the Crowes albums, this is one of their best. The album got so-so reviews from the critics, but I truly can't understand why. screw the critics, this album rocks, and i certainly hope the reform soon. Check out Chris' solo album out on October 22. Lions has all the swagger, the great songs, and the heavy blues sound that seems missing from rock and roll, except in bands like the crowes or STP. ...The Black Crowes are hands down the best band of the 90's. Pound for pound they have put out the best songs of anyone over the past decade. This CD hit me offguard at first with some of the outahere sounds. But you know what, formulaic, clean songs get old quick. I can't stop listening to this thing. It is just another exquisite piece in a legacy that will be left behind by the crowes... ...Warm up the old tube amp and kick back gang, 'cuz this is some good old rock and roll. I've been keeping track of these guys since they were touring the dingy club scene (prior to Shake Your Money Maker) and this album plants them in Hall of Fame territory. The time spent with Mr. Page has paid off in the little guitar intricacies present all over this offering. Enough drivel - buy it, listen to it loud, you'll like it. Trust me.
