I bought this album because I have a great appreciation for the work of R. Blackmore through his years with Deep Purple and Rainbow. I wasn't really sure that I would like this album. I got it a few weeks ago and have listened to it numerous times since then. It is readily apparent that Mr. Blackmore is at last, after years of bitter moping, a happy man. The music is extremely well produced and played. The mixture of acoustic and electric instruments was incredibly well done. The title track was an exceptionally good song. Ms. Night sings with passion. Her voice was very well suited for these songs.Free Music Review: yes medieval meets rock music!

who is the man who made the cool compilation? he is ritchie blackmore (ex deep Purple and rainbow guitar man)this one is a third album after shadows of the moon and under a violet moon. The set is a unique combination between classical roots, medieval and rock sound .
I cannot say anymore to this album, I had been a huge fan of Deep purple since 1976 and I already had the whole RAINBOW & DEEP Purple collecting albums and ritchie blackmore solo albums too. If you re a unique guy like me, please buy this album!

Let's get two things straight: A)it is medieval, and B) it builds his image imensely. If you ware a REAL Blackmore fan you know already that everything he did was medieval based. I say hooray for a man who can finally live his dream without disgusting corporate entanglements. Way to go Ritchie!!! I say, with no reservations whatsoever, to anyone who desires to believe that there is still good in the world, especially with how much music today [stinks], buy the whole collection of Blackmore's Night.Free Music Review: I need more stars than five! Great music. I love it! Ritchie plays wonderful, Candice Night, his wife, uses her beautiful voice perfectly. Her voice matches specially well with Ritchie's medieval music... Yes. He plays now less Hard Rock and more the mix of folk-medieval-rock! Deep Purple, Rainbow and Blackmore's Night, those names are 'Made by Ritchie', and all of them give us music pure! But Blackmore's Night is special, very special. Listen to it and allow you to get carried away by the sound of this CD!Free Music Review: Candice ROCKS!!

Um, has no one noticed that the songs with male vocals kinda [stink]? Blackmore's Night gives too much credit to Ritchie Blackmore, and not enough to Candice Night! This woman has an amazing set of pipes, and I have fallen in love with all three CDs. (I, for one, was not disappointed with Under a Violet Moon. I think Spanish Nights is a really cool song.) I have to say, if it weren't for Candice Night, Blackmore's Night would just be another semi-decent rennie band.
