Free Music Notes for Audio Day DreamFree Music Review: Audio Day Dream is a fresh, fun pop debut Hit: 5 Stars
If you need a pop template to help put Blake Lewis' debut CD in context, dust off the one that says "Phil Collins" and leave the one that says "Justin Timberlake" in the filing cabinet. Audio Day Dream, after all, pays homage to the best pop music the 1980s had to offer. It also offers promise of what today's pop music could be -- a fresh, fun, energetic, eclectic sound that is a joy to listen to. Lewis has an interesting voice--an intimate tenor, flexible, with a cool, subtle tonal quality colored with nuance and phrasing -- and he uses it skillfully. Lewis' talents (he has writing credits on all but one track) also include beatboxing, and he worked just the right amount into the mix. There are so many sonic treats bouncing and weaving through the songs that it seems impossible to get bored with this CD. The lyrical theme of love lost/love possible is carried through with a range of tempos and styles. This CD sparkles with Lewis' personality, sound, and creativity. If you have given up on pop music, try giving A.D.D. a listen -- it can make you feel renewed.
Free Music Review: This album is fun, creative & has great vibe, loved it ! Hit: 5 Stars
Alright so this album is not everyones cup of tea but DAMN, it hit the right spot with me. This album popped up in my recommendations and so I decided to sample the tracks... WOW! I was immediately blown away. This album certainly has a daydreamy feel and I think Blake did an AMAZING job... the beats are hot, his singing is incredible & the vibe of this record is sooo cool. It is fairly reminiscent of Timberlakes 'Futuresexlovesounds' in the way every track has an element or a mix that you have never heard before. Certainly stepping outside of the box of traditional pop styles. 10 points for creativity and 10 points for listenability (i know, i made up that word). I really enjoy driving w/ this record in the car or just chilling out to it! I think this record must have been underpromoted cuz in todays world where pop/hip hop artists like Rihanna/ Timberlake sell millions this record certainly could have sold some more. I loved it.
Free Music Review: More than bubble gum music Hit: 5 Stars
The music genre listed for Blake's CD is Teen Rock. I disagree. With everything that Blake does musically, he pushes the envelope blending jazz, rock, electronic, house and many other musical styles. Your average Teeny Bopper can't really appreciate the levels of sophistication that Blake delivers in his music.
His record label is making a serious mistake marketing him in the same bucket as that Hannah Montana flavor of the day.
The only weakness in his work is where he borrows a little to closely from the melody lines of a song called "Putting On The Ritz". I don't think that proper credit was given to the original composer. If he chose a more obscure song; it might not be as much as an issue. But "Putting On The Ritz" is a feature song in Mel Brooks' movie and Broadway musical "Young Frankenstein". For his first post American Idol CD this was a real faux pas. (trans. bad move).
Free Music Review: Don't just buy the CD for his picture... Hit: 5 Stars
OK.. so he's adorable ... beyond edible... and no, I'm not some 13 year old with a crush.. unfortunately Im 30, married and have 2 small kids.. but I'm not above admitting he's just got 'it'.. all of 'it'!

You can listen to this CD from beginning to end and never want to skip a SINGLE SONG.
AND~.. when it's over.. You will want to play it again. (& again.. & AGAIN!) Yes,.. much like looking @ his picture ~ listening to his CD.. just makes you want to move and it feels good all over!
I was hopeful it wouldn't disappoint and I'm happy to say it didn't!
As a matter of fact this is the first review I've ever left on aything... ever... I hope my 2 cents helps!... if your considering buying it.. BUY IT!.. you WON'T be disappointed!
Free Music Review: Really Fun To Listen To Hit: 5 Stars
I'll tell you what -
I was really hoping this album would be good. I was anticipating an album that would have a little more influence and style than you may expect from a former American Idol.. and I think this album AUDIO DAYDREAM really delivers. It wasn't fun to hear that recently ARISTA records dropped Blake Lewis after "failing to produce a radio single," off of AUDIO DAYDREAM. Blake remarked by saying something in regards to having been doing independent music for 8 years and would continue to do that. I have read that Blake is still signed with 19 Recordings' [an entertainment company run by Simon Fuller that represents and manages many former 'Idols'].
I hope he goes far with his music career and I can tell you that 'Break Anotha', 'Know My Name, and '1000 Miles are a few tracks that have been on my ipod for some time, and are cool to hear in the mix.
