Free Music Review: Great 1st CD
Hit: 5 Stars

I was a huge Blake fan when on Americal Idol. I wanted his CD whether it was great or just good. Turns out that I'm very pleased with it. He has a good mix of songs. My favorites are by far; Break Anotha, Gots to Get her, How Many Words, End of the World, 1000 Words, and I Got U. Of course, they are more of the romantic type but they have a great rythym as well. I agree with some of the other reviews that I have read and do not really care for the cover picture but who cares when the music is this good.

I had this CD in my car for a couple of weeks after buying it and then lent it to my mother. After a week, I started wondering what I was missing, and realized that I was jones-ing for my Blake CD. Do yourself a favor and buy this CD if you liked Blake on AI. It's worth the money and then some. I would have definitely paid more.

Free Music Review: Blake!
Hit: 5 Stars

This Cd is nothing short of spectular. For the record, i wasn't the biggest Blake fan on Idol. I found him a bit cheesy and pretentious (to borrow from our favorite sour Brit). However, this album is amazing. So melodic and various styles that all seem to merge together perfectly. Whatever formula was in store on this album really worked... I don't like Break Anotha. I think he woulda been better going with What'cha got 2 lose. But i understand the dilemma in picking his first single. They want to show that he is being creative (ie, beat boxing) and Break Anotha definitely fits a unique style. It may be the right move, but the album offers MUCH MUCH more..

my favorite tracks are "Here's my hello" "hate 2 love her" "know my name" "end of the world" "how many words" "what'cha got 2 lose" "1000 miles" "i got u" "human"

Free Music Review: Blake is in a class of his own -- THE BEST MOST INTERESTING ARTIST in 5 Stars

I just might be Blake Lewis' biggest new fan! This CD takes repeat playing to even begin to understand the complexity and creativity of what he does with the music. Anyone used to Blake from Idol is in for a treat AFTER they adjust to the newness of the sound which becomes more spectacular as you catch up with him since he is so far out front from where most of us reside. I CANNOT recommend this CD more highly to any true music lover, but, although the adjustment is on our part, it is well worth the effort to get to where his is with this. BUY IT and LISTEN to it until you understand it and then you'll be playing it over and over telling yourself how hot or cool he really is and he IS! Then start DANCIN' if you haven't already and get some work done while grooving to the beat. I mean cool really cool-- yea HOT HOT Blake!

Free Music Review: Audio Day Dream-Three thumbs up!
Hit: 5 Stars

I want to start off by saying that Audio Day Dream is definitely worth the buy. Blake definitely does not dissapoint! The cover alone has amazing art work that depicts his personality. He is unlike any other artist and that is why I enjoy his music so much. I personally think the vocals on "Without You" and "End of the World" are beautiful. And the dance worthy beats of "Here's my Hello" and "What'cha got to loose" are awesome! It also helps that there are so many good writers on the album. Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic, Josh Hoge along with Chris Richardson. I think that Blake did exactly what he wanted with this record. There isn't one song that I do not like. I think that Blake is on a different level than any other idol who has came off of American Idol, and that is a good thing! I rate it 10/10, or in this case 5/5!

Free Music Review: The BEST musical surprise of the year!
Hit: 5 Stars

As the time neared for the release of Blake Lewis' debut, I was guardedly optimistic as he was the most original Idol contestant in years. I say "guardedly" because I feared his label would try to squeeze him into a pre-existing "Pop" box. Thankfully, my fear was unfounded!
"Audio DayDream" (you gotta love the A.D.D. reference!) is a great cd with truly broad appeal. I listened to it with my 15yo daughter (I am 47) and we both loved it. The standouts are many but my personal faves include "Break Anotha", "Gots to Get Her", "Know My Name", "How Many Words", "Hate 2 Love Her", and "End of the World". There are plenty of singles here (as long as his label gets behind him!).
I also applaud Blake and his label for embracing the value of Cover Art.
