Free Music Notes for For My Friends

Free Music Review: Finally!
Hit: 5 Stars

Finally new material from one of my favorite bands Blind Melon. From start to finish this album is excellent, this is one of those albums you listen to from start to finish without skipping over tracks.

I was fortunate enough to see Blind Melon in concert in Dallas and I was absolutely blown away by their performance. The band hasn't changed one bit since the passing of Shannon Hoon, and with the adding of Travis T. Warren on vocals the band is better than ever! Though Travis cannot take Shannon's place he does an amazing job on vocals, I was very pleased.

If you're an old fan and are skeptical about a new guy taking Shannon's place, I urge you to pick up this album... you will be blown away.

Free Music Review: For My Friends is For the Fans
Hit: 5 Stars

It's been 13 long years since the passing of Shannon Hoon and the end of my all-time favorite band. Finally, the guys have found someone worthy of carrying on the legacy that is Blind Melon.

Travis Warren can not only belt out classic Blind Melon tunes like no one on Earth, but he brings to the table his own uniquness as well. The music on this album is no less than instant classic.

For all of the old fans out there that feel disloyal or unsure, please give this a listen. You will not be disappointed. For the fans-to-be, give this a listen. If you like it, welcome to the club. If not, then it wasn't meant to be.

This album was obviously recorded For Their Fans.

Free Music Review: I can't find anything better.
Hit: 5 Stars

Every time I finish listening through the album I go to grab a different one and nothing sounds remotely appealing. I keep reverting back and listening to the new Blind Melon again and again. A great disc to add to the collection. The musical talent of Brad, Rodgers, Chris, and Glen never rusted, bringing forth a new polished sound built off of much experience. Travis' vocals add the right pitch and range to keep up with the stellar riffs and compositions. These guys are on top of the world right now and rightfully deserve it. Get the album and check out one of the shows. They're on tour non-stop right now which should be a dream come true for everyone.

Free Music Review: Thank's BM
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm not one to type long messages, so this will be short and to the point. I actually bought this cd at their show in New Orleans last week (4/17). It hasn't left my cd player since. Like alot of folks have said, Travis will never replace Shannon, but at least we get more Blind Melon. Travis is still a great addition....check out Cheetum Street (w/ Travis' mom on back-up vocals). It's about time a good album has come along. On a side note; 90% of music today consists of regurgitated crap and lack of talent. Thanks for more talented and original music BM!!!! It's about time. Rest in peace brother Hoon.

Free Music Review: Shannon would be proud!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a great addition to the Blind Melon catalog, even though Shannon's not here in the flesh to be a part of it. Blind Melon really is a band with a unique sound, and I think that comes through in this album. Rogers Stevens' uplifting guitar licks compliment Travis Warren's soulful vocals nicely, and the music all seems to fit together just like the old days. I had the privilege of seeing these guys twice on this tour, and I can say without hesitation that they still have the magic and wonder that is Blind Melon. This record is definitely worth your money!
