This is an amazing album you can listen to straight through over and over again. From the title track For My Friends you get the feeling that even though they were gone for so long they still have the connection and you can tell Travis is having more fun then ever with his histerical laughing at the end of the song. With a blessing from former singer Shannon Hoon's own mother, Blind Melon is back in name and sound. With a new singer, Travis Warren, they deliver 13 new tracks that will please both old and new fans alike. This album is one hit after the other, and I highly recommend it to anyone who (like me) is tired of everything on the radio that sounds the same. WOW, I had the pleasure of seeing them in October in Vermont at the start of their first tour, It was so emotional and warming, I had never been to a better concert ( I was never able to catch them in concert with Shannon). I saw them twice again this month in Austin and in Houston and was blown away yet again. This album is fresh, intelligent, comforting like soul food. These guys are the best. I've been a fan of Blind Melon since the beginning and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I heard they found a new lead singer, how could anyone ever replace Shannon? But now listening to this album I am reminded of how amazing the band is. I love that guitar!! If you don't like this on the first listen, give it another chance, you'll love it.
