Free Music Notes for Enema Of The State

Free Music Review: may be "sell outs" but they sure as hell cherish it
Hit: 5 Stars

Alright, Alright, laugh all you want....I like this CD, so im reviewing it....its good, I know a lot of you think there 'sellouts' and what not, but not to me, there still the same old Blink. I think this is there second best release (Behind Cheshire Cat) and it deserves the recognition it has earned the band... The CD starts off with "Dumpweed", one of the better songs on the CD in my opinion. The chorus is catchy as hell. "Dont Leave Me" is next, its a pretty good song. "Aliens Exist" is up next, Tom finally got his way, and got to write a song about his fetish, Aliens....I dont hate the song, but its not the best thing on the cd or anything. ''Going Away To College" is one of my two favorite songs on the CD, the guitars/drums/lyrics all fit together perfectly, its a good punk rock love song. Next is "Whats My Age Again" ya ya ya, everyone hates it cause it got big, oh well, its a good song. "Dysentery Gary" is a good song, but not a lot like the 'normal' blink....the next two songs are the other two 'radio' songs, "Adams Song" and "All The Small Things", both are good songs, and "Adams Song" has a really positive message, despite what some people think or do. "The Party Song" is a song about going to partys (If that wasnt obvious) It tells about how he doesnt like partys, cause people are fake, and are just in it to get some 'action'. "Mutt" is a song about Sex, flat out, I hated this song when I first heard it on 'The Show' comp, but Ive grown to love it, its one of my favs on the cd. "Wendy Clear'' is another punk rock love song, good song. and finally "Anthem" (The second of my two favorites) is about playing a show at a friends house and having the kids parents show up, and cops as well, and all getting busted, and Tom threw some somewhat serious lyrics into it as well. My overall rating of the cd is 'Great', everyone should have this, who cares if it got Blink popular. Im happy for there sucess, and wish em more luck.....everyone go buy it, if you dont already have it.

Free Music Review: Review for "Jessica" and Blink
Hit: 5 Stars

Remarks on "Jessica's" review. First, the definition of "singing" is as follows: To utter a series of words or sounds in musical tones. Meaning that Tom's tones can be flat. That is their style of singing and it appeals to teenagers who listen to it because teenagers are going through maturity and our(guy teens) voices can sound like that. Age doesn't matter. So what if they are 50. They are expressing their feelings and thoughts on what a lot of us can't or don't. I don't see any of your records or albums in stores. Mark is the one singing Adam's Song, by the way. The lyrics make perfect sense. You have to be open minded and they don't just throw words around to make it sound good. The song is not meant to be uplifting in any way. The song is depressing. The song allows us(teens) to relate to it because teens go through some very tough times in our years. A lot of teens contemplate suicide. It is part of life. It doesn't mean we(including Blink 182) are stupid and immature for expressing it or singing about it. Heartbreak, depression and loss happens a lot in a teenager's life. Losing girlfriends and boyfriends. Doing poorly in school. Getting a 1200 on the SAT. Failing that one test. Parents barking orders constantly. Fights with siblings. Puberty. Working. Trying to get the 3.0+ GPA to get into a good college. Very stressful for us. These are the beginning years of our adult life. Blink 182 expresses all that we go through and we thank them for it. All of them possess incredible talent in playing their instruments. Some of their songs I am in awe because I know how hard it is to play and sing at the same time. They have earned every dollar they have made while being the greatest band, Blink 182. I am also writing this because you obviously have no life if you write reviews for Amazon. I am only here because I have a Xanga and I chose Adams Song as my entry song and a link took me here and just scrolled down to find that you actually spent TIME writing, what you probably think, a truthful, honest and informational review. Blink 182 is the best. Cheers to all.

Free Music Review: 131 One Stars?! Are You F-ing kidding me?
Hit: 5 Stars

How can without a doubt of the greatest punk rock albums of all time have 131 ONE STARS!!
I can guarantee you that they are ALL probably freaking all up the Ramones, Sex Pistols, and Misfit's A$$. Granted those are great classic punk bands. But this, like any genre of rock, is an evolved version of something else. But that in no way means it deserves a one star. I'm only 20 years old and grew up listening to Blink from the time I was 7 years old and my cousin had the Dude Ranch CD. I listened to that thing over and over again, I couldn't get enough of it. Blink is part of what is without a doubt a part of the HUGE oxymoron that is, Pop-Punk. Pop-Punk in general is a commercialized version of punk rock with a crisper/cleaner sound that is easier to listen to and appeals to the public more. IE, teenagers and young adults. Blink is just one of those bands that Universal decided to put there money behind and sell. And oh boy did they sell. I doubt that any other band was as backed as much as Blink. A lot of other bands of the same style around at that time were just as good, but Blink had the giant execs at Universal Music Group to back them up. Blink is probably the biggest pop punk band of the past 15 years, next to Green Day. Which are probably more "true" punk than Blink, in their own way. I personally believe this is Blink's masterpiece. Chesire Cat was very rough and was the early works of a band poised for Super Stardom. Dude Ranch showed a more polished sound, with a mix of that rough punk mixed in. Enema was the KING record for Blink. They really came into their own and had developed that sound was all their own. Take Off Your Pants & Jacket showed more the same. There self titled album in 2003 showed a new "serious/experimental" direction. I didn't care for that record as much, still pretty good though. Now Blink is set to release a new album in 2011 that has anticipation higher than any record they've ever set to put out.

So what's my rating, FIVE STARS, without thinking twice.

Free Music Review: Not punk, but bettert than punk!
Hit: 5 Stars

There is only one song on here that is punk. The Party Song. A pretty good song but it's too fast. I will rate each song as I usually don't do.

1. Dumpweed: A pretty good song. Good riffs and stuff. Nice drumming. Some cusses but not as much as Dysentary Gary.

2. Don't leave me: A good song with good drumming. Okayish guitars. Cool lyrics.

3. Aliens Exist: Awesome song when it gets around 2:10. Good guitars and vocals.

4. Going away to colege: This used to be my favorite song on here. Now I'm not sure what is my favorite.... A GREAT song! One of the best on here!

5. What's my age again: I've heard this so many times that it's not funny. I am still not tired of it. Great song with funny lyrics.

6. Dysentary Gary: Cool song. Lots of cusses and discrimination against girls. Good song though.

7. Adam's Song: Now we are talking! This song is great! If you can't figure what this song is about then listen to it really carefully! "I traced the cord back to the wall, no wonder it was never plugged in at all." That's kind of obvious. Figure it out.

8. All the small things: An average song. Not great but good enough to help make this CD a 5 star rating.

9. The Party Song: Nah! This isn't good. They need more effort in this song.

10. Mutt: Cool and funny song! This whole CD has funny lyrics except for Adams's Song.

11. Wendy Clear: Now I remember! This is my favorite song. Great song with cool guitars and riffs and lyrics and drumms and... everything!

12. Anthem: I am actually listening to this now. It's not bad. Acutally, it's pretty good! Nice lyrics and effort!

So this CD earns 5 stars because every song (in my oponion) is good except for The Party Song. Now, if you are a fan of Blink 182's old stuff, then you might want to reconsider this album. It's not quite punk but (in my oponion) it's better than punk. I like this album for its diverstiy from the other Blink 182 albums. A good buy and worth every haypenny (a half of a penny).
