Free Music Review: This is one of the best
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one of the best punk cd's to ever come out. Many old Blink fans bash this album for being successful and getting the music out to people. That is NOT a good reason to bash them.A reall fan would stick with them ,no matter how wide of an audience they have.I had never heard of Blink before Dude Ranch, but I'm no less of a fan than any one from San Diego. So now that I've said that,we'll get on to the album.Dumpweed-GREAT start.A perfect Blink song-great guitar,drums,bass-10/10.Don't Leave Me-Not the absolute best but purty dang good. The chorus is probly the best part- 7/10.Aliens Exist-HOT DANG does this song rule!!!!!Everything about this song rules-10/10.Going Away to College-Decent song but not as good as it could be.Great song anywayz-9/10.What's My Age Again?-One of the best songs Blink has come out with.Funny, great work instrumentally, and great lyrics-10/10.Dysentary Gary-Another good song.Gets a lil bit annoying after you've listened to it a lot though.-7/10.Adam's Song-Probably the second best song IMO.It's about a fan who commited suicide.Best lyrical work on the whole album.-10/10.All the Small Things-Played on the radio and tv to death, but still great if you ask me.Definitely not a skipper.-10/10.The Party Song-I can never follow along with the lyrics but it has a nice beat.-9/10.Mutt-This is one of the best on the album.I'm surprised they didn't release it as a single, because it's good enuf to be.-10/10.Wendy Clear-Great punk song.Good song all around.-10/10.Anthem-THE ABSOLUTE BEST SONG ON THE WHOLE HOT DANG THING!Wonderful lyrics, wonderful guitar, bass, drums, everything is awesome! If every other song on the album sucked except for this one,I'd still buy it.ITS THAT GREAT! Well, buy it now punk!!!!

Free Music Review: This cd is incredible
Hit: 5 Stars

I have had this cd for four months now, and it has not left my cd player since. Every song on this cd is good. I must admit that I bought the cd for the songs I heard on the radio ( All the small things, What's My Age Again, and Adam's Song), as I'm sure many of you will do. When I first put it on, I found out that although the songs they played on the radio were great, the ones they didn't made this cd as good as it is. Songs like Aliens Exist, Dystentary Gary, Mutt, Wendy Clear, and especially Going Away To College are great, as are the ones I didn't mention. I especially like Going Away to College, because it is one of the only songs in which Blink grew up, writing a song that not only has an unforgetable melody, but has great lyrics that talk of splitting up because of college, and all the uneasiness, and fear that goes along with it. This, in my personal opinion, is the only song that can rival Adam's Song as the best on the cd. Speaking of Adam's Song, I cannot possibly write a review of this cd without devoting a good amount of time to it. Adam's Song is another song in which Blink grew up. They tell the story of a troubled teenager, suicide and death, and complete it with a deceptively complex melody, and excellent musicianship. It is by far the best on the cd, and my favorite song, ever. This song is just so good. I've tried in the preceding lines to describe how much I like it and I can't really do it. Maybe that's because it hits a personal note with me. I don't know. Anyway, it's an incredible song. This is the best cd I own. If you like alternative, punk, or anything even remotely similar, you will love this cd. You won't be disappointed.

Free Music Review: Great CD, Powerhouse of Songs
Hit: 5 Stars

The title of this review says exactly what I think. I don't care if people think Blink sold out (they did NOT) and I don't care if some people think this album is more pop than punk (its NOT). Enema of the State is a great CD. Here is my synopis of the songs on the CD with a rating from 1 to 5, 5 being the highest.

1: Dumpweed (5/5) Great intro, funny lyrics and incredible guitar. 2: Don't Leave Me (4/5) This song is really good, but really short; the lyrics in the liner notes are barely a paragraph! 3: Aliens Exist (5/5) Awesome song that shows exactly what Tom is thinking 4: Going Away to College (5/5) My personal favorite (check out the live version on the Mark, Tom and Travis Show) with lyrics that are so very true. 5: What's my Age Again (5/5) A very, very, very good song with incredible guitar. I hate the fact that their video has caused everyone to think that they are "always naked". 6: Dysentery Gary (5/5) Weird lyrics, but a very solid arrangment 7: Adam's Song (5/5) Amazing song that dares to step into the very scary world of suicide with simple lyrics that touch the heart in a surprising way. 8: All the Small Things (5/5) Great song with a award winning music video. 9: The Party Song (4/5) A good song with a solid chorus, but the verses are sang so very quickly that it is hard to really like them. 10: Mutt (4/5) An okay song that I like, but there is nothing really special about it. 11: Wendy Clear (5/5) Great song with words that I don't really understand. 12: Anthem (4/5) A nice ending with a good message but I like Anthem Part 2 (Off of Take Off Your Pants and Jacket) much better. So there you have it. I like the CD a lot and it will not disappoint you.

Free Music Review: A major Album for all blink fans
Hit: 5 Stars

many people say that Enema was the point where Blink went from pure punk to pop punk sellouts. I dissagree. I think that when Scott left that they figured they had to create a new sound for themselves to keep it fresh. Before they new it they were selling millions of CDs and were on TRL all the time. After that, well...that for another review. Anyway, if you like punk, buy this. If you call yourself a true blink fan then buy this. Most of all, if you want a great album that changed rock music forever then buy this. Another thing, most of the best songs on this album are the ones with Mark singing. Odd though because Tom is supposed to be more of a lead singer...

1.Dumpweed--10/10--a great chorus and a strong opener.

2.Don't leave me--10/10--One of the best on the album. Very hard verses.

3.Aliens exist--9/10--cool sort of techno song. Doesnt really sound like punk but still awesome.

4.going away to college--10/10--very emotional song with an awesome chorus. Best song on here.

5.what's my age again--10/10--second best on here. Great chorus and transitions.

6.dysentary gary--10/10--funny song with cool guitaring

7.adam's song--10/10--a slow song about suicide. Really touching

8.all the small things--10/10--great single. Coulda been better but it's great anyway.

9.the party song--10/10--hilarious song but sort of weird. Very very very fast!

10.mutt--10/10--very diverse musically and good lyrics

11.wendy clear--10/10--great song period. more emo than punk

12.anthem--10/10--opening is weak but the rest of it is awesome

Free Music Review: Detractors need to chill
Hit: 5 Stars

How many times are we going to have to listen to the "This isn't REAL punk!" and "They sold out!" whiners. Find something new to rant about, people. I've already heard it as a kid in the early 80s (The Clash, anyone?), as a college student in the early 90s (Nirvana, anyone?), and now as an adult the argument is rearing its head again with the latest wave of popular punk bands. The simple fact is, if a band is still playing $5 clubs after 20 years, then they either a) have the worst luck in the world, or b) have a musical focus so small that it only appeals to a tiny segment of the population. While the latter is not necessarily a BAD thing, it doesn't mean that bands who stretch their style to appeal to a larger audience are somehow evil. That's silly, and it's sour grapes from people who think punk music should only be played for people who like to bang their heads together repeatedly while muttering bad things about each other and their neighbors. I say, if a band can take a punk music base and make it appeal to everyone, more power to them!

Now, to the music itself: This is a great album. Every song could be a single. The melodies are catchy, the lyrics are hysterical, and the album rocks from beginning to end. The band can be justifiably proud of their accomplishment. In a sea of Brittneys (however you spell that) and *NSYNCs, Blink 182 is an enchanted isle. If you're looking for some great punk-pop, don't hesitate to add this to your collection. My favorites: "Don't Leave Me," "Going Away to College," and "What's My Age Again."

I'll say it again: Detractors chill! This is a terrific album.
