Free Music Review: Finally!
Hit: 5 Stars

Of all the 4 releases with Rutlege and Pickens, this is the definitive one W/O the bloated 2xs of the former excursions.
Just for the lead off track alone, Why must there be so much confusion, when there is so little time. Life is full of dissillusion, cutting you down in your prime. Plus oooo-to the chargrin of some, there is a flute interlude toward the end of the track. Could it be a 'compromise' of sorts? And double ooo, the 'Ham' name graced that composition, too! Yeah, and they were getting away from the 'head lyrics, too. 'Crazy Bout You Babe' was short and to the point AND very electric-under three minutes, with Rick Cobb's triplets and such. Though I suspect the pressure was getting too much front and center-thus the PR team opted out. Bad for them, but good for the other guys since this was a sign of what was to come!

Free Music Review: "Side 1" is A LOT better than I remember...
Hit: 5 Stars

I first saw (heard) Bloodrock in 1972 as the opening act for GFR at Pirate's World in Dania, FL. I bought every album they released after that and remain a loyal fan after all these years. I bought this CD earlier this year, even though I still have the LP packed away somewhere. I have noticed something interesting about CDs vs LPs. When I used to listen to this album, I mainly listened to Side 2, because it had my favorite cuts like American Burn and Rock & Roll Candy Man. Now that I am listening to the CD, I realize that I missed some great music on Side 1. I can honestly say that this album is excellent from start to finish. Good, clean, pure rock & roll.

BloodRock simply rocks... I have the 2 and the usa(4) albums only; never got 3..., wished I did, or the 1st. That makes 4 right, before the swing if you will. The change of/maturation of etc. The loss of [the] GUITAR... with a heavy bass line and hammond to boot, and the out of nowhere drum cycles... I think too much political thought is put in to these reviews btw. Sure, there was/was/was some credible analysys warranted then in the lyrics; but now ? Well, maybe a bit... But comparing VietNam to Iraq Stoller is ridiculous !!! Just put the music on with some headphones and go with it. Beauty is in the ear of the beholder anyway...

Free Music Review: Absolutely TOP GRADE A#1
Hit: 5 Stars

LIVE at Chicago Aphitheatre is one of the greatest ass kickin live albums ever released! Although recorded in 68, the only thing about this release that is dated is the opening introduction and monologue by someone (probably a DJ) asking for "a line down the middle for drug rescue". The music is timeless, highly ELECTRIC, rock with driving beats and classic kickass lead guitar. This album is a must for anyone who enjoys clean, high energy music (even the blacker pieces like DOA) that actually has lyrics that aren't brainless.
