Free Music Notes for Tell Tale Signs: the Bootleg Series Vol. 8Free Music Review: A Legend Strikes Again Hit: 5 Stars
I guess it should come as no surprise that Bob Dylan's "bootlegs" are just as good if not better than the originals. The two versions of "Missippi" are a revelation, and the live cuts, particularly "High Water" and "Ring Them Bells" burn with intensity. He may not have been blessed with a great voice, but he's learned how to get the most out of what he has. And after forty years his songwriting remains unrivaled by any of his contemporaries.
Free Music Review: Pure Dylan! Hit: 5 Stars
Fabulous! Anyone who appreciates Dylan will enjoy the re-interpretations of these songs. He is one of the few artists who routinely re-explores a given work and produces anew something as vibrant, memorable, and thought provoking as the orginal. Through a sharp or nuanced alteration in tempo or vocal delivery, Dylan is able to create a new masterpiece, that is as always, thoroughly enjoyable.
Free Music Review: Thank ya Bob Hit: 5 Stars
Tell Tale Signs, longevity, creativity, dignity just
can't explain, an artist's artist, how much I have appreciated
this mountian of talent, then this set comes along.
Just got to say, Thanks Bob it's been a great ride through the
years, if this is anything like the future put your seat belts
on, an outstanding work of art.
Thanks
Jimmy Hawks
Free Music Review: Must have for Dylan fans Hit: 5 Stars
This is a really great addition to the Bootleg series..all songs are from his more recent albums and there is, in some instances, more than one version of the original. I can listen to "Mississippi" practically all day, and now I have 3 versions of it.
Dylan's new songs seem adapted to his "new" voice...just perfect.
Free Music Review: What Dylan has on the shelf is better than 99% of what is out there Hit: 5 Stars
It is stunning the depth of Dylan's music. With this release he once again demonstrates that what he considers unreleased music is better than 99% of what other artists would call their best work. We can only look forward to his future bootleg series. He hasn't even started with his live material, I can't wait.
