Free Music Notes for Together Through Life (Deluxe Edition) CD + DVDFree Music Review: Interesting Dylan Hit: 4 Stars
Mr. Dylan again demonstrates that he is on his mature song-writing and performing game. His new CD adds a wrinkled dimension to his opus and is well worth listening to several times.
Free Music Review: My Deluxe Package was Incomplete! Hit: 3 Stars
Love the CD, but there was no DVD in my Deluxe Edition! What's Amazon going to do to make this right?
Surely, I'm not the only one out there to get the defective package.
Free Music Review: Smoke not only gets in your eyes but in your vocal chords! Hit: 2 Stars
I hope this is the last album on which Dylan tries to sings. The worst ever! As usual his lyrics are tight and thought provoking, but for goodness sake let someone else sing the songs. What a distraction to try to make sense of the lyrics when a raspy, smoke-destroyed set of vocal chords tries to reach high notes (the medium and low notes were no better). He even published a photo of himself smoking on the album inside. Boo! Not cool at all. This album is very similar to his last two. Rhythm, instrumentation and incessant back-beat that drives me over the cliff. Now I see why his fans were upset when he changed from acoustic to electric guitar. He needs the electric guitar to smooth over a destroyed voice that no longer captures the intent of the lyrics. Retire Bob and change you name back to Zimmerman. I was thinking of getting 4 tickets to your concert but, no thanks. I want to remember what you once were and keep my embarassment for you to a minimum.
Free Music Review: A huge disappointment Hit: 2 Stars
Sorry to review this album with a pathetic 2 stars..2 stars only because it's Dylan, so we have to show some respect.
I have played this album numerous times trying to get to like it. But, with each playing I like it less.
The album is not even in the same universe as Modern Times. A very huge disappointment as well as a waste of money.
Can't find 1 single song that is at best agreeable much less impacting.
Almost always, a CD will contain 3 or 4 winners, the rest dogs. This album offers nothing, Boo to you Bobby D. !
Free Music Review: Not as rich as recent efforts Hit: 2 Stars
Compared to the brilliance of Love and Theft and Modern Times, this is a flimsy outing for Dylan. Part of the problem is the colaboration with Robert Hunter. The last time they worked together was on one of the worst album's of Dylan's career: Down in the Groove. Aside from the first track there is nothing here of particualr note. A few moments of light, but otherwise totally forgettable. And I am a HUGE Dylan fan.
