I have owned almost everything of this band over the years, but this one, which was recorded just months after Bob left us, is truly a fitting tribute to a gentleman whose music knew no boundaries.
Everything Bob did - from his own compositions to reworkings of classic songs - was always innovative and fresh, never sounding dated at any time. The same goes for the killer sidemen he employed. I loved ALL of the tracks, especially the theme from "MASH." And the closing "Auld Lang Syne" - with Bob's flawless piano solo - what a perfect way to remember this genius.
While we will hear no more of the Limited Edition, we will have their music as a fond rememberance of Bob Florence - the man and the music. I know he's somewhere in glory with the big band greats that had gone on before him - many of them much too soon.
