Free Music Notes for Live at the Roxy, Hollywood, California, May 26, 1976 - The Complete ConcertFree Music Review: Can't miss on this one Hit: 5 Stars
I read the reviews. I went out and bought the CD. They got it right. (At least all the 5 star reviews!) This is an awesome CD, great sound, great songs, great groove, just plain great. One guys says the show is SLOW. (??) Come on mon! It'sa reggae-mon! Got no hurries and no worries.
I've only listened a couple times so far, but this is one of my fav Marley discs. I also recommend the Deluxe Edition of Exodus. With those two and of course the ever present Legend, you pretty much have a complete view of Bob Marley.
Free Music Review: Finally! Hit: 5 Stars
I've actually had this show on cassette tape for years from a friend who happened to tape it off a radio station in the 80's. The tape was my pride and joy, and copied many times by jealous friends. I was delighted to see this show had been released on CD and now every Bob fan I know is going to get a copy of this for Christmas. Even my lousy taped copy would give me chills when I'd listen to it. The nice clear production on the CD is a joy and now I can hear the nuances of the performance I was missing before. A must-have!
Free Music Review: Seriously... Hit: 5 Stars
If you already have the 2-CD Rastaman Vibration that includes CD1 of this set, sell it or give it to a friend, then get this, because as good as CD1 is, CD2 could be the best live recording I own. There are maybe a handful of concert albums in my collection that really make me feel like I'm there, and to get that feeling about a Bob Marley concert, well there's no better audio experience in my book. Now I don't have to be *quite* as jealous of the people who were old enough to actually go to a Marley concert.
Free Music Review: Masterful production of an incredible show! Hit: 5 Stars
This double disc is amazing, it's almost impossible for me to describe the joy I derive from listening to it. The audio quality is by far the best I've ever heard of any Bob album, let alone a live one! And the feeling is just so different than any of the studio albums, you can feel the connection he had with the audience and if you close your eyes you'll swear you're actually there. Hands down my favorite Bob album!
Free Music Review: Great Addition to any Marley Collection Hit: 5 Stars
This is a very good sounding live cd with strong performances and a strong set list. What is very different from other live cd's is the sound. This is clearly a club audience and that leaves it with a different vibe than Babylon by Bus. It almost sounds like a Grade A+ bootleg. Most will already have these songs in various versions but these are great songs in a performed and offered up in a new way.
