Free Music Notes for Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley And The Wailers (New Packaging)

Free Music Review: Lively Up Your Music Collection
Hit: 5 Stars

There are a handful of albums that I see in just about every house that I visit. Bob Marley-Legend is one of them. Everyone seems to love his songs and I think the main reason is their simplicity. Marley seems to be able to strip music to it's simplest form and deliver messages so relevant but without the pretentiousness that most artist impose.

Think of Reggae and Bob Marley immediately comes to mind. He has put this genre on the map and made it his own. He has mastered the genre to make the most wonderful and chilled out songs ever recorded. Played from beginning to end, this collection will take away all your worries and chill your soul. A great summer's day album to play whilst relaxing in your yard and equally good music to play in the background of a nice social gathering. One time I was in a chillout bar and they had the whole album on in the background and not one tune seemed out of place, in fact it helped tremendously with the atmosphere.

Music doesn't get more honest than this. Simplicity and beauty with a strong thread of genius interwoven throughout. this collection of songs shows clearly why Bob Marley is heralded in such high regard by millions of people worldwide. He touches everyone who hears his music, which is just about the full population of the planet.

One of the greatest collections of an artist's work and rightfully titled. Bob Marley was, and still is, a legend.

Free Music Review: Awesome, but...
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is classic because all the songs on it are classics and its the best selling reggae album of ALL TIME. I just want you to know this before you get it: You are going to buy this album, you are going to love it, and then you're going to look for what else you can buy from Bob Marley. Every one of his albums is classic. You can't go wrong with anything by Bob Marley (can you tell he's my favorite artist?).

So, if you think you're going to want everything by Bob Marley, here is a list of his studio albums (in order from oldest to newest) Catch A Fire, Burnin', Natty Dread, Rastaman Vibration, Exodus (the album of the century according to TIME magazine), Kaya, Survival, Uprising, and Confrontation (released after he died). Get ALL of those. After you have that, you won't need Legend because you'll have every song. Then go ahead and buy "Babylon By Bus" and "Live at the Roxy 1976," his two best live albums. If your thirst still isn't quenched, buy a compilation of his Studio One releases (originally released as singles so there isn't one album to buy...I'd recommend the Dejavu Retro Gold Collection). The only thing you can get after that are rare singles, and I'd recmmend the "Songs of Freedom" box set for that.

That's how I'd go about it, but then again I love Bob. You have to decide for yourself whether you just want some Bob or everything by Bob. Either way, you CAN'T lose.

Free Music Review: Incredible compilation...
Hit: 5 Stars

While I now own a lot more of Bob's work than this one CD, it's a great introduction to the man & his music. And while I rarely say this, if you're going to only have one Marley album, make it this one. Everything the casual fan could possibly want is on "Legend."

What's remarkable about this package is the way it simply blends together for such a pleasant musical experience. It covers about 10 years worth of music; from political to ganja to soothing love songs, but there's not a single misstep. It all comes together so smoothly, which is the reason why this is considered the best "greatest hits" compilation ever made. No need for that skip button here, folks. Just sit back, relax and let the man take you wherever he wants you to go. It's worth the trip.

It's pretty much common knowledge amongst music lovers that all of Marley's albums are worth getting (which I agree with). But, like I said before, if you're only going to have one, get this. Everyone has their own preferred Bob album, but if you want to go beyond the "Legend" presented here, I'd recommend Kaya, which is my personal favorite because it flawlessy showcases my favorite aspect of his music: positive vibes, mon.

Free Music Review: The Essential Album For Begginers In Bob Marley and Reggae
Hit: 5 Stars

There is a reason why Bob Marley was ranked the 11th Greatest Artist Of All Time by Rolling Stone Magazine, and it's because of his icredible song writing ability. Bob Marley could write a song about living in a torn shack in Jamacia and when you heard it, you were in that torn shack while rain water seeps through the cracks in the roof and you are left standing there praying for a better life...even if you live in a mansion. That is the power and rawness of Bob's music and why he is revered and respected as the greatest reggae artist to ever live:
1.Is This Love-10/10
2.No Woman, No Cry[Live]-10/10
3.Could You Be Loved-8/10
