Bob Marley is an artist of such stature that it's easy to argue that no collection could do fair service to him, but that's really beside the point.
This collection is a great starting point for anybody interested in the music of this great talent. Is it complete? Of course not. No one disk could be. That shouldn't detract from the fact that this album is an amazing selection of music, great song after great song.
Yes, the emphasis is towards Marley's most accessible, popular songs ... but that's how it should be. Every fan will have their own favorites that they'd love to see on a disk like this, but for somebody just getting started with the music of this amazing man, it's hard to imagine a better starting place.

Well, I've always known that Bob Marley was at one point and still is to a lot of people all over the world, a huge influential icon. His messages in his music touch us all because he talked about such deeply meaningful issues affecting all of humanity. The fact that it's reggae and has that unmistakable reggae sound, it became popular because it was so hard not to notice and appreciate it. Previously I had not known of any of his music being 25 and pretty much into R & B, and Hip Hop but wow, this CD really introduced me to him and made me a fan. I plan on purchasing more of his music. Bob Marley's music has touched the souls of thousands. Why is this? This is because Bob Marley writes music out of true love. When i listen to his music, I know Bob Marley did not do it for the fame or the money, he wrote these lyrics to make a change to the world, the world that contains so many faults that are blatantly screaming danger. It's a shame that only so few such as Bob Marley stood up for what he believed in. Don't get me wrong, I honestly believe there are thousands of those who are making a change in the world, but many people have to see of how many of those who just don't care. Bob Marley is one of those who has always cared, and his music simply leaves me speechless. Cheers to you Marley.Free Music Review: A True Legend

This man WAS a legend. His music touched millions. He laid the groundwork for a lot of ska and reggae existing today, surviving an assination attempt and a country filled with unrest and confusion in the process. It truly was inspiring. His passing in 1981 was both tragic and untimely. Legend is a Best Of-album of sorts. It has a lot of his radio singles, his big hits, and a few treasures. Recommended to all fans of music, Jamaican music or otherwise. A stepping-stone into eventually collecting all of of his amazing work.Truly it is: "...the heart and soul of the Jamaican people packed into one five-inch compact disc..."
Bob Marley's spirit lives on in his music.

This is truly one of the greatest artists of all time. You could listen to this no mater what kind of mood your in. And if you start listening to it with a certain lady friend, then get up and start dancing alog to it with her! One of the most romantic things i ever i did!(skip over when it gets to "i shot the sherrif").

Oh and the ratings given by the other reviewer are wrong, this song is without a doubt 11/10!!!
