Free Music Notes for ExodusFree Music Review: A Good Place to Start Hit: 5 Stars
Bob Marley is not simply the best that Reggae ever produced; as far as I'm concerned he's one of the greatest rock musicians ever. I have trouble when trying to decide who I rank higher in my pantheon: him (and the Wailers) or the Beatles. Obviously, I'd urge people to go out and buy his entire library (at least the original albums, it's amazing how many times his work has been repackaged), but if you don't have any Marley this would be a good place to start. The grooves are deep, the song writing is strong. Marley got some heat in Jamaica over this album because people thought it wasn't political enough. For just that reason it might be an easier way in for American listners. It contains love songs and songs of great spirituality. And it rocks!
Free Music Review: Bob Marley on TOP!! Hit: 5 Stars
I was living on the island of St. Thomas in 1977 when I first heard this recording. I was on a beautiful beach, drinking those powerful rum punch drinks. Someone played the first song, "Natural Mystic" and for me, it was like being transported to another time dimension. The musical cadence and beauty of the song just captured me. I was instantly hooked to Bob Marley's music. The entire album has a quality to it that has made it one of the true classics in music. Not one bad track on the entire set. Played with passion and love by one of the greats, the main "rude boy" himself, Robert "Bob" Marley.
Free Music Review: Marley Still Shines Hit: 5 Stars
This record contains some of Marley's most famous songs such as Jamming, Waiting In Vain and of course Exodus. Beautiful writing and performances throughout the record and People Get Ready is steller. This is one of the best recvords ever recorded and stands up decades later. You really cannot go wrong with any Marley recoord, but this record and Legend (a compilation) are two good ones. Exodus is wonderful, but Legen has many of the hits from Exodus plus some other great tracks such as No Woman No Cry, Buffalo Solider and Redemption Song (probably my favorite Marley song of all of them.)
Free Music Review: Bob's Finest Album Hit: 5 Stars
Aside from Legend, a great compilation and a recommended introduction to the music of Bob Marley, this is one of Bob Marley's finest accomplishments. Every song is strong and topics range from party songs to social commentary. With Exodus, Jamming, Waiting in Vain, Three Little Birds (every thing is gonna be all right) and One Love, this is a greatest hits album in its own right. And, if you are looking for the sexiest reggae song of all time - Turn Your Lights Down Low simply smokes. I also strongly recommend Kaya, a beatiful set of love songs. ~~~_/)~~~ Sail On ~~~
Free Music Review: Exodus, top quality reggae Hit: 5 Stars
While i am an avid Bob Marley fan i feel that this is one of his most under-rated albums that he never really got the re-cognition he deserved at least with alot of the British people at the time as every release was regarded as legendry in Jamiaca by Bob Marley fans and i could'nt agree more. As with most Bob Marley releases (avoid the scratchy recordings) they make great beach music along with the ranks or latin etc and really make you feel good so if your a fan of reggae then i would get Exodus or legend by Bob Marley and would recommened Reason or Roots by King Django.
