Free Music Notes for SurvivalFree Music Review: Survival Hit: 5 StarsHuge Marley fan and this is a top album. Buy this or be sorry.
Free Music Review: Great 'new' Bob Marley Hit: 5 StarsImagine if we could get a cd full of new Bob Marley songs. Well, this is about as close as we're going to get. Most of the songs here haven't been heard by the general public or even most casual fans of Bob Marley. It's a shame and at the same time a blessing.
For as great as Exodus is it does get old hearing the same Marley songs over and over.
But are these songs any good? Yes!! They all fit together nicely and the sound is top notch, since this is one of Marley's latter releases. The remastering is also outstanding - something we've seen with all the Bob Marley remasters.
So, if you want a somewhat new Marley experience and you haven't heard Survival then you're in for a real treat.
Free Music Review: Very good songs Hit: 5 Stars This Cd is very very good, have almost the best songs from Bob and this version is remastered becoming the quality of the song better. If you like reggae music, good songs, Bob Marley and sound with Hi quality, Survival is a good choice. All the Best and Jah Rastafari!!!
Free Music Review: My second favorite Marley LP Hit: 5 StarsThis LP is probably tied in first place with my other favorite LP, "UPrising". My all time favorite Marley song is "Could You Be Loved" from the Uprising LP. It was the song that I first heard on the radio that made me turn to reggae as an alternative to disco/pop at the time. From there, I became a total reggae head.
My love of roots reggae is still as strong today and this album is still at the top of my list, right under "Uprising". There isn't a bad song on it. I still have my original vinyl recording and play it from time to time.
This is a must have recording for anyone who is getting into roots reggae. Its a true classic.
Free Music Review: Best album by Bob Marley and the Wailers Hit: 5 StarsI would rank Bob Marley's best albums as Exodus, Rastaman Vibration and this one, Survival. Exodus includes in number the most well known songs, whereas Rastaman Vibration and Survival contain some of his best lesser known songs. Survival is popularly known as his most "politically charged" album. This is probably a fair appraisal. I believe it was released in 1979 when he was at his peak in my opinion. The song Survival is probably my favorite track on the album, and probably my favorite Bob Marley track overall.
