Free Music Notes for Stranger in Town

Free Music Review: My definition of "Rock & Roll"
Hit: 5 Stars

This is without a doubt one of the very best rock & roll albums I have ever heard. I remember owning this on 8-track. It was made for cruisin' down the highway with the windows open (or better yet, the top down), with the volume cranked up, if for no other reason than to drowned yourself out, because you are going to be singing along at the top of your lungs. It is better than a stiff cup of coffee for a pick me up if you are feeling a little drowsy while driving! It is a real injustice that two previous reviews, both by the same "Jason Ross", give this album 2 stars on one & 1 star on the other, only to find out doesn't even own this album and hasn't even heard a lot of the songs on the album, that he is going by the songs from it that appear on the greatest hits album he does owns! What kind of knuckle-head reviews an album he only knows a couple of songs from? Needless to say, his reviews should be removed.

Free Music Review: "Stranger" Shines
Hit: 5 Stars

I remember when My brother brought STRANGER IN TOWN home and put in on his stereo. The drums from HOLLYWOOD NIGHTS kicked me in the head. Then the lyrics set in.This was intelligent writing, folks. I had only heard one other Bob Seger tune before this,TURN THE PAGE;I liked it but didn't know until later who sang it.I was hungry for more and STILL THE SAME,'TIL IT SHINES,OLD TIME ROCK'N'ROLL ,and WE'VE GOT TONIGHT gave me what I needed.Seger writes for the common man;FEEL LIKE A NUMBER shows what working on an assembly like must feel like. When you lose your individuality,it seems hardly worth the effort.STRANGER IN TOWN introduced me to the music of Bob Seger;I hope it can do the same for you.

Free Music Review: Gold Mine
Hit: 5 Stars

Seger combines intelligent lyrics with great rock and this may be his best work. There are lots of hits here, including "Old Time Rock 'n Roll", "Still the Same", "Hollywood Nights". As much money as those songs made Seger, however, the best songs are lesser known. "Feel Like A Number" is outstanding and in the car w/the stereo blasting it's a rock and roll experience everyone should enjoy at least once. "Till It Shines" is wonderful and "The Famous Final Scene" may be the best song ever written about a good relationship that is ending. Bittersweet and poignant.

Free Music Review: A classic!
Hit: 5 Stars

This album, along with Night Moves and Against the Wind, is quintessential Bob Seger. Every track on the album is strong (except maybe Brave Strangers). The first three songs are good rockers and all classics, Till It Shines has a nice melody, and Feel Like a Number is more classic Seger. Ain't Got No Money is a barroom brawler, Brave Strangers is the weak link, and The Famous Final Scene winds everything down for us. Probably his best closing track on an album. This album belongs in anyone's collection who is a fan of classic rock.

Free Music Review: Great album by Seger but not his best really!
Hit: 2 Stars

Only a few songs I like on here that are from my Bob Seger's Greatest Hits CD like "We've Got Tonight", "Old Time Rock & Roll" and of course "Hollywood Nights". The rest of his music a split opinion i've never heard before whether it's good or bad. That's for you to decide yourself!
