After reading the reviews on this CD, I purchased it. My goodness, how much more I enjoyed each track after reading the descriptions of the songs. I don't know how you all know these stories, but THANK YOU for sharing them. My parents were musicians in an orchestra and when I started piano lessons, the first song I learned was "Mack the Knife". I was a little young when Bobby Darin passed away and am just now becoming acquainted with his music. This CD is so fun to listen to in the car, all alone. I love his banter...you feel like you're there. I first went to Las Vegas in 1974 when it was just a big town. The fun part after watching headliners, was to go sit in the lounge of whatever casino they were performing, and they would come out and sit and have a few drinks, often times right next to you. This cd is wonderful, for anyone who is a Bobby Darin fan or even if you are not, this cd is a must have. Bobby Darin was such a masterful entertainer, this was recorded lived at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas, has great songs on it and the monologue is tremendous. Bobby's rendition of Mack the Knife is as always perfectly done, he does a Beatles medley which could have only been done any better by the Beatles themselves, Your love keeps Lifting me Higher is just amazing. Very well done cd by the most extraordinarily versatile vocalist and entertainer the world has ever known..Free Music Review: Must Have

According to the CD notes, his manager Steve Blauner, who attended this performance, considers it "to be Bobby's most brilliant work and perhaps one of the best performances of his career..." Darin is in absolute top form, the voice ranging from full throttle hard rock in the encore medley of Chain of Fools/Respect/Splish Splash/Johnny B. Goode to throaty tender in Hey Jude and I'll Be Your Baby Tonight to sexy swing in Mack the Knife and Beyond the Sea to plaintive clarity in the folk tunes. LOVE this CD! I am an avid Bobby Darin fan and having collected lots of his works consider this one a wonderful addition to my collection! I especially enjoyed the monologues and his tribute to the Beatles! Also loved the encore and bonus tracks! A thoroughly enjoyable listen in its entirety and one I have played and replayed! I would recommend it to anyone who loves his music and consider my money well spent!!!Free Music Review: WOW!
