Free Music Notes for CrushFree Music Review: awsome Hit: 5 StarsI love this CD of course I love Bon Jovi but none the less I love this CD
Free Music Review: Crush-tastic! Hit: 4 StarsArgh, what the heck - if you're a Bon Jovi fan, you'll love this album. My fave tracks: It's my life - I like this track alot, but the fact that Max Martin ( the Backstreet Boys song writer) worked on it with the band leaves me with an un-easy feeling. Say it isn't so - another good track Two Story Town - CLASSIC! Captain Crash & The Beauty Queen from Mars - More goodness One Wild Night - Another Classic! the rest of the album's great too, but these track really stand out to me.
Free Music Review: The beginning of the "Nightmare" years. . Hit: 1 StarsOnce upon not a time not so long ago (how bout that for you Livin' On A Prayer fans?) there was a great band called Bon Jovi, however you should not mix up THAT Bon Jovi with whomever released Crush. Front-man Jon Bon Jovi has said about this album that he was writing for the moment, how HE FELT at the time. Then why did he also say that two of the songs were inspired by movies(Armageddon, "Thank You For Loving Me") and another track later on in the disc which I believe went to Meet Joe Black("Save The World"?). The end result is a passionless album. Jon may be decent at acting in movies but bringing acting to albums does not work. He is left to regurgitate hairband melodies in "One Wild Night" while playing to a youthful rebellious crowd in "It's My Life". This album isn't about anything meaningful (and most definitely not about Jon as he claims). This release as well as Bon Jovi's recent 2 live albums(which have been pounded by fans) and Bounce signify the nightmare years of Bon Jovi. A band that once had originality has now turned out to exploit the events of 9/11 (apparently some songs on Bounce, which I don't and will never own). If this album had come out after New Jersey(88), I probably could live with how horrible it is. However Bon Jovi became a poetic(and real) group with their albums in the 90's: Keep The Faith(92), These Days)(95) and their 3 new songs on Crossroads(94). Despite poor first solo albums by Richie and Jon, their second solo albums, Desitination Anywhere(97) for Jon & Undiscovered Soul(98) for Richie, showed the two men continuing to become more poetic, passionate and mature with something to say. They have (little to) nothing to say on Crush nor does it seem they have anything to say on Bounce(judging from the singles I've heard) but are forced to put out live albums just to make a buck. Not only do they have nothing to say with the music on Crush but the lyrics are just as mind-numblingly uninteresting. In all fairness, I thoroughly enjoy the song "Mystery Train" off of Crush but I could live without the rest of the album very easily. The biggest problem of the band and Bon Jovi's horror years that begin with Crush is Jon himself. Never have I seen a more egotistical and fake person on TV interviews. If he's been this way throughout his career I feel sorry for the guy, he needs help that is long overdue. Crush is a major setback for a band that really became something in the 90's, rather than just another hairband. Crush is so bad and Jon so fake that I have broken my ties with any new music by Bon Jovi. Thankfully I've heard in an interview that the band may stop releasing new material because Jon wants to focus on his New Jersey football team and do some more acting. If that's the case I can only say thank you for ending the nightmare. If Bon Jovi wants to make a real comeback, write about something personal, something real, something great about the world, something wrong with the world (no, not the worst terrorist attack on American soil), something with a cohesive theme(Keep The Faith, These Days, Desination Anywhere, Undiscovered Soul) or even better yet something wrong with themselves(I'll help write the lyrics!). I guess the money has gone to these guys' heads though and they can't find anything wrong with themselves, so we get songs about Crash and The Beauty Queen From Mars. Nightmare.
Free Music Review: Way to Go! Hit: 4 StarsAfter two decades, Jon and company still have it. This is a great record. "Its My Life" and "Just Older" stand up to almost any other Bon Jovi song. These guys just get better with time.
Free Music Review: Amazing!!!!! Hit: 5 StarsThis is one of the most amazing ablums, Bon Jovi have brought out. This would be one of my favourties, closely behind, 'Crossroads.' If anyone thinks this is one of the worst, they need to listen to it more. Although 'Crossraods' will remain my all time fave, this is my second and will always be!
