Free Music Notes for Keep the FaithFree Music Review: This Album Just Doesn't Get Enough Credit Hit: 5 Stars
Slippery When Wet made them superstars. New Jersey established them as a great rock band, but Keep The Faith just proves that Bon Jovi is not just another band from the 80's. There are the trademark Bon Jovi songs with the catchy chorus and guitar riffs, but it's the songs that are different to Bon Jovi fans that makes this album work. The opening track I Believe is a solid rock that grabs your attention and it is followed by the title track which is a departure from anything on the New Jersey album. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead is a typical Bon Jovi sing-a-along that's fun to listen to and In These Arms is a cool rock ballad for the ladies, but it was Bed Of Roses that got all of the women to cry. It was also the biggest hit off of the album. The best track would have to be Dry County. Jon Bon Jovi is at his best vocally and Richie Sambora pulls off an excellent guitar riff that will blow your socks offf. The most underrated song would have to be Fear. This song definitely stands out on this album compared to the other songs. To give you my honest opinion, this is Bon Jovi's best album and I am a huge Bon Jovi fan. The songs are more solid and put together than any other Bon Jovi tune. This album also proves than Bon Jovi can be taken seriously as artists and not just another 80's rock band lying by the waste side.
Free Music Review: One of their great albums Hit: 5 Stars
Remember the days when Bon Jovi released good albums well this is one of them. Obviously the big songs Sleep When I'm Dead, Keep the Faith, In These Arms and Bed of Roses are on here but you have no doubt heard them so I won't talk about them.I Believe is all right. It's not a classic but listenable to. If I was Your Mother is about a guy wondering if he was this girl that he likes mother would he love her. Pretty weird idea for song but okay. Dry County is a sad but good song about a farmer struggling to survive drought and singing about his family and wine. Women in Love is a song saying there ain't nothing like a woman in love. Fear is about living, taking risks and not just surviving a really good song. I want You is pretty self explanatory. Blame it On the Love of Rock & Roll is a guy's story of why he is in a rock band and the people who tried to persuade him not to want to be a Rolling Stone. Little Bit of Soul isn't a great song. Save a Prayer likewise but the final song (not available on some album versions so check first) Starting All Over Again is pretty good and is about what it says starting life over again. This album isn't as good or in the same league as Bon Jovi's two previous albums New Jersey and Slippery When Wet but has enough good songs to make it a must buy.
Free Music Review: Bon Jovi storm into the 90's Hit: 5 Stars
Bon Jovi released their third album, and first of the new decade in 1992. The album was aptly titled Keep The Faith, and featured some of the most mature sounding songs Bon Jovi ever recorded.
Keep The Faith found Bon Jovi shedding alot of their party-boy image, chosing to adopt a more 90's inspired sound and look, remember when Jon made news with the cutting of his hair?? The album is almost perfect from start to finish, no filler finds it's way onto this album, and one could imagine any of these songs being played on rock radio. My favorites from Keep The Faith are Dry County, Blame It on the Love of Rock & Roll, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, If I Was Your Mother and Woman In Love. The difference in sound on Keep The Faith may make some people pass on this album, don't, after a couple listens it's definitely made me a fan of the record.
Keep The Faith does take Bon Jovi's sound further than previous efforts, however, it took it in direction that fit the band quite well. You know the deal by now, I love the record, so i'm sure you will as well!!
Free Music Review: It's better that New Jersey Hit: 5 Stars
It's probably better than New Jersey. How can anything be better than New Jersey??? For YEARS I hadn't bought any Bon Jovi, afraid of them not living up to the New Jersey Standard I've set for them in the post-Grunge music universe (well, Van Halen sucked then, and the Crue sucked then, and also as young newlyweds in grad school in the early 90s we didn't have extra cash to spend on CDs) till my husband brings me home a copy of Crush in 2002 as a gift and I start all over being a fan (first heard JBJ in 1983 with "Runaway", big 80s fan like everyone else my age). Bounce is great too, but This Left Feels Right I don't like so much, so I go to pick up the holes in my back catalog...starting with Keep the Faith. Wish I had bought it 12 years sooner. There isn't a bad song on here with the possible exception of the somewhat weak "Woman in Love", and "Dry County" and "Keep the Faith" are classics of, well, classic proprotions. Admit that you totally love Bon Jovi and go buy the CD already. You won't be sorry.
Free Music Review: Keep the Faith Hit: 5 Stars
`Keep the Faith' is probably Bon Jovi's best album and the one I go back to the most from their back catalogue. I stopped buying their albums after `Crush' and `Keep the Faith' really was the bands peak. From the two opening tracks `Believe' and `Keep the Faith' you know that the band could still rock out when they wanted to and the ballad `Bed of Roses' just manages to pull it off without getting too cheesy. The highlight has to be `Dry County' and Sambora's solo is without a doubt truly outstanding. In fact Sambora's solo albums are excellent and are well worth checking out. Overall this is an excellent album and I was always disappointed that after the `These Days' album (which is also excellent) Bon Jovi never quite managed to live up to their former glory. If you want some good time rock music, with excellent guitar playing and before Bon Jovi got overblown and too into themselves, then this is the place to go. I still love it all these years later.
