Free Music Notes for Lost HighwayFree Music Review: This is Bon Jovi all grown up!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I have loved Bon Jovi since I was 12 years old, and they have have their great albums and their ok albums. Lost Highway is "Great" Not since "Slippery When Wet" have I been so in love with an album. Some people don't like this CD however, they need to understand that Bon Jovi is all grown up now, they have to change their style to what is fitting for them NOW as grown men. They are not babies anymore and I personally don't want to hear hard rock from anyone pushing 50. Not cool!
This album is beautiful and a new country style for Bon Jovi that shows they are REAL musicians, not a fly by night, third rate rock band that is here today, gone tomorrow (like all the other bands that came out when they did). Bon Jovi is still here, still rocking, and can still sell out concerts. They are the best of their time, and need to be respected for their craft and their versitility. I LOVE this album, and would recommend it to anyone. Rock/Country on Bon Jovi, you guys are the best.
Free Music Review: The Evolution of Jon Hit: 5 Stars
Love every song. I want to not like the newer JON Bon Jovi, the guy with his pricey Kenneth Cole clothes, sycophant worship of Al Gore, a fancy Vipor and his new 26 million dollar penthouse in NYC, but, I put on my big girl panties and dealth with it....It's BON JOVI, the band, that I still love!
With age comes growth. I think as Bon Jovi ages, they are showing what true musicians and writers they are. They are not just rockers. Bon Jovi's direction may have been very calculated, however, it proved to be a great decision. The evolution of Bon Jovi proves that the band can progress and still be great. The musical training and background of each member proves that when their differences are combined, they are great musicians...no label needed.
Although the duet with Rimes has Jon "contorting" his lyrics a bit too much, as if to prove he can do country twang, overall, I love this cd. Like other Bon Jovi CD's, it's a great "sing along" in the car!
Free Music Review: Different but still great! Hit: 5 Stars
I bought the CD the day it was released and I have played it non-stop. It's been a long time since I've bought a CD and liked every song on it. I've been a Bon Jovi fan from the beginning, have all their albums, go to every concert I can and I still wasn't worried when I heard Bon Jovi was produing a "country" influenced album. I guess I feel that these guys do everything well, and this album didn't let me down. When I listen to music I want it to say something to me, and so many songs on this album do. "The Last Night" and "Seat Next To You" are just beautiful songs but the bonus track (Target Purchase) "Walk Like A Man" makes you stop and listen, knowing Dave and Richie are grieving over the loss of their fathers and listening to this song about a father/son relationship, how can anyone say that they are in it for the money. These guys still have alot to say, and frankly, when they are saying it with songs like these, I'm all ears.
Free Music Review: Discover Lost Highway ! ! Hit: 5 Stars
A HUGE Bon Jovi fan, such as ME, a new fan or even a non fan will love this CD. For the past few months I've been saying Lost Highway will be a huge success (of course all the press surrounding the release this week doesnt hurt either)..... There is something for everyone on Lost Highway, up tempo twangy rockers with a "raise your hands to the Hey Hey's" type songs, soft smooth ones to slow dance to, and a little bit o country sounding songs in between.
Not really loving the song "We Got It Going On", but every single other track is GREAT! I've seen the band perform several of the new songs in the past two weeks and the material sounds amazing live - "I Love This Town" will be played like they are singing it about every city that they play in this summer and on the tour next year. Roll down your car windows, let the summer breeze blow your through hair and crank the song "Lost Highway"!!!
Bon Jovi forever!
Free Music Review: Country or rock? Hit: 5 Stars
I have been a Bon Jovi fan since 2000 when I heard It's my life on the radio and I have every album that they have made so far. I recently got my copy of Lost Highway, and whether it's country or not I like it. Bon Jovi can do any music and do it good, I think.
My favourite song on this album is Till we ain't strangers anymore feat. Leann Rimes. That song has it all, it is one of the most beautiful songs Bon Jovi have ever done. And when I'm in a party mood I like to listen to We got it going on, no country there!! Just Bon Jovi rocking!
Some songs on this album may sound country to you, but it depends on what you consider to be reak country, is it Kenny Cheseny og Johnny Cash? If you think it's Mr. Cash then this album is no country..
I encourage everyone to get this album and listen to it, don't judge it just because it was recorded in Nashville.. give it a try..
