Free Music Notes for New Jersey

Free Music Review: Incredible.....nothing less.
Hit: 5 Stars

First off, I'm only 18 and there just aren't that many Jovi fans in my age group. I was constantly ridiculed through High School because I was a fan of what the skater kids liked to call "cheese rock". Okay I don't care about trends obviously and this record is awesome!! It was actually the first album I ever owned and I've owned it 5 times because I keep wearing the thing out! There are some really great ballads on here such as Wild Is The Wind, Living In Sin, and a very cool love rocker called Born To Be My Baby. My favorite Jovi song though is Blood On Blood which is just amazing and is the longest song on the CD, an epic of sorts. Love For Sale is just the guys goofing off and it's pretty funny. BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE EARS!!!!!!

Free Music Review: Bon Jovi and metal at its height
Hit: 5 Stars

New Jersey is by far the climax of Bon Jovi's carrer and of 80's metal. Bad medicine, Lay your Hands on Me, Born to be my Baby, and 99 in the shade are prime examples of what metal is supposed to be about, good times and good lyrics, not just trying to pump it full of swears. Then there are the excellent power ballads such as I'll be there for you and Wild is the Wind, which are some of Bon Jovi's best. And of course, the short filler tract Ride Cowboy Ride, which is actually surprsingly good. It really is a shame how this Album gets overshadowed by Slippery when wet, which is excellent by all means, but this is just so much better. All new fans should pick up this album 1st, then you'll be hooked on Bopn Jovi for life.

Free Music Review: Their Best Album Ever
Hit: 5 Stars

I only wish they could make another album this good. "New Jersey" is my favorite Bon Jovi album from start to finish. The album has more of a hard rock edge than any other album...yet it also has great ballads like I'll Be There for You, Livin in Sin, Born to Be My Baby, and Wild Is the Wind. The album doesn't have a weak song outside of Homebound Train...and the true undiscovered gems here are Wild Is the Wind, 99 In the Shade, and a favorite, Stick to Your Gun. Just a flat out great album...one of my Top 5 favorite albums of all-time. Looking forward to the new album in June, but I already know the band has "grown up"...too bad that means they'll never make another album this good.

Free Music Review: One of Bon Jovi's finest
Hit: 5 Stars

Simply put, this cd is excellent. The first three tracks, "Lay your hands on me," "Bad Medicine," and "Born to be my Baby" are all incredible and show Bon Jovi at its best. Other great tracks include "Wild is the Wind" and "Blood on Blood". Of course, there really isn't a bad track on here. I'm not too big on "Living in Sin", because Jon does sound kinda like Springsteen, and Springsteen's music pretty much went to hell in a handbasket starting in the 90's(In my humble opinion). All in all, though, this is a killer cd. No Bon Jovi fan should even consider passing it up, and if you're new to Bon Jovi, this would be as good a start as any.

Free Music Review: Prett Much The Best of The 80's Hard Rockers
Hit: 5 Stars

Say what you will about Bon Jovi, hard-rock wannabees, pop-metal, girly band, whatever....this album is just flat-out rock mastery.

Funny thing about this disc, there were 5 top 10 singles, and not one of those is actually the best song on the album. A song buried on side 2 called "Wild Is The Wind" is not only the highlight of this disc, but quite possibly of any Bon Jovi album.

"Slippery When Wet" will always be their trademark, but "New Jersey" was their true masterpiece. One of the very few albums that even people that say they don't like Bon Jovi will tap their feet to every tune on it.

"New Jersey" is truly a testament to why Bon Jovi has been around for 20 years.
