Free Music Review: These days Bon Jovi
Hit: 5 Stars

Maybe I'm biast because I am a die hard fan, but I believe this album rates as one of their best. I'm not even sure if I could pick a best, I do love all of their album's. I do agree that the songs on this one are a little sad, dark, but maybe that just reflects what was going on in Jon's life at the time. We know singer songwriters draw on their own experiences for inspiration, so perhaps his life was a little dark at the time, or perhaps he saw the world around him as dark. I know I have dark days, and it's this kind of music that I want to listen to. I feel that it relates to me sometimes, and it helps me to get through. No matter what Bon Jovi write no doubt I'm going to love it because I love them, but also because I know that they are not one hit wonders, they have a multitude of talent that never runs out. They don't sing about the same crap over and over, they sing about situations that we can all relate to. I'm sure they don't expect everyone to love all of their music, and neither do I, but let's see them for who they are over all, an amazing rock band that has continued to surprise their fans with their incredible talent, not just their abilities in songwiting, but their musical talent as well. Credit to them all, they are truly the one and only legendary rock band of all time. I'm only 32 now, but I can see myself as a little old lady listening to my Bon Jovi.

Pammy Music Review: Quiet Classic
Hit: 5 Stars Let's make one thing clear: "These Days" is a great record. It may be heavy and lacking in the sort of arena exuberance that made Bon Jovi famous, but this is an unforgettable record.

People looking for chart-topping singles may not like this album. "These Days" is a hard-hitting album. Even the 'up' songs like "Something For the Pain" and "Damned" have a tight lyrical backlash that should have proven once and for all that Bon Jovi is a spectacular band, capable of writing songs that are powerful, ironic and inspiring.

The heavy title track, an irresistable mix of hard-nosed realism and wide-eyed idealism is a momumental song. A painful "Lie To Me" falls close behind (but not until the listener has been in enough love to 'get' the intent.) Even throwaways like "If That's What It Takes" hold a firm grip on the listener, written with character and substance.

"These Days" is not "Slippery When Wet." It's a darker, more intense Bon Jovi. It's probably not an album for everyone. But for those of us who grew up with this band (socially speaking) "These Days" is a frightening reflection of the angst and pathos a lot of us feel. In many ways the title "This Ain't A Love Song" resonates more in the context of the entire record than it does on its own.

Free Music Review: True Bon Jovi fans will love it
Hit: 5 Stars

Inspired by the many harsh words that "These Days" has received in "Crush" reviews, I feel it is my duty to say that "These Days" was one of the group's best. While many criticize it for being a commercial sell-out, I would say that it is the most introspective and non-mainstream album they ever did. The title track is a true account of how life is today, and "Something to Believe In" is a sad song relating the poor state of life's many double standards---very eloquently written. "It's Hard Letting You Go" is haunting...for anyone who knows about being unable to move on from a lost love, this is a great song for you. Other great songs include: "Lie to Me" (a desperate cry for someone to love you---wonderful ballad), "My Guitar Lies Bleeding in My Arms" (one of the album's best--intriguing song of nearing the end of the line), and "Hearts Breaking Even" (a great break-up song, with a cool rock and roll beat). All in all, a great album, with impressive themes. For those looking for a deep, introspective album, one in which you will come away feeling like you should know yourself a little better, "These Days" is a great album for you!

Free Music Review: Best Bon Jovi Album To Date
Hit: 5 Stars

These Days by Bon Jovi is simply their best album to date. After landmark releases like Slippery when wet and New Jersey, they seemed to be treading water with Keep the Faith. These Days reveals a host of ideas, and sounds like no other Jovi album, before or since.
Bon Jovi's songwriting reflects a new-found maturity and unparalleled assurance here. "Hey God" is the infectious, riff-driven opener and sets the tone for the album. Most of the songs reveal a depth and musical complexity yet unseen from Bon Jovi. "Something for the Pain", "This Ain't a Love Song", "These Days", and "Lie To Me" are some of their most melodic, emotionally resonant songs ever. "Diamond Ring" and"My Guitar Lies Bleeding..." are beautiful ballads the way only Bon Jovi can do them. It's a shame that they didn't pursue this newly found direction after this fine album, as Crush and especially Bounce only found them going backwards in terms of complexity and intimacy. Also, Ritchie's influence is unusually large on this album, judging from his harmonies and listening to Stranger in This Town. All in all, a landmark, monumental release that deserves wider exposure!!

Free Music Review: VERY UNDER RATED!!
Hit: 5 Stars

To me this is Bon Jovi's second best album. But since it's a slightly differnt mix than the one's that came before many didn't give it a chance. I was one of those people at first... It was given to me by a friend a few years back since she found out I'm a Bon Jovi fan.

Well, I desided to just listen and see what was wrong with it.
Thats when it happend.. I found it full of passion and great music that flows smoothly. Jon's voice is some of the best it's ever been. Even though there are spots where it sounds like he's moving more towards where he is today. Which depending on your view that could be a good thing or bad thing. To me that was the only slight downside.

The guitar work is great, Some what simplistic. But I feel any more and it would have messed up the songs. Sometimes less is better.

I highly recommend this to anyone . Even if they don't normally care for Bon Jovi.

I put this on my top ten lists of Best Albums of all time.

If you truly give it a chance it will hook into you and never let go. I've had it for several years now and I still get drawn to it easily.

Don't miss out, BUY this album!
