Free Music Notes for These DaysFree Music Review: A huge hit outside of America Hit: 5 Stars
I've noticed a few reviewers mentioning These Days was not a commercially successful album but the truth is this was an incredibly successful album both commercially and critically all around the world the only exception being America.
In Europe, Japan and Australia These Days topped the album charts for weeks at a time. Here in the UK These Days spent 4 weeks at the top and Jon and the boys reaction to debuting straight in at number 1 and kicking aside Michael Jackson can be seen in the Live in London concert dvd. These Days holds the record for the band to spawn the most Top 10 singles, with four singles charting on the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart (This Ain't a Love Song, Something for the Pain, Lie to Me and These Days).
These Days is the most diverse and dark album Bon Jovi has ever realised and quite possibly the most brilliant as well.
A masterpiece!
Free Music Review: Not for the average Bon Jovi fan Hit: 5 Stars
Ok I admit it. I've been a Bon Jovi fan for years. When i bought this album it blew me away. I love all of their work. I have all of their stuff. BUT I always seem to come back to this album. I listen to all the Bon Jovi and Solo Efforts. I even own all the import stuff. BUT this album, just hits home. From the opening, "Hey God" as well as The fourth track "These Days" talking about life in modern times and tought on God. The Darker sounding Ballard of "This ain't a Love song". To the thought provoking "Damned" about cheating. I belieave if you love music you will love these songs. There isn't one song I would have changed. It's a GREAT ALBUM! If i had to pick one album to listen to for the rest of my life this would be it!! Atleast give it a shot. Try it for yourself I don't think you'll be dissapointed.
Free Music Review: Just My Thoughts Hit: 5 Stars
I consider myself a huge Bon Jovi fan. This album for years has held a special place in my heart and cd tower. It is always near the top, when others over the years have been replaced. A warning to those who enjoy Bon Jovi; this is nothing, and I mean, nothing like crush or keep the faith. The songs on this album are darker, deeper, more personal than most. "Something for the pain" is both especially engrossing and heart-wrenching. This album has often been reputed as an album trying much too hard to compete with grunge and alt-rock. I disagree. Yes, there is an edginess to the album, but Bon Jovi, even on KTF, has shown a more melancholic side. Remember "Dry County"? Try this CD, try it twice. If you are a fan of emotional music, you will enjoy this CD. Happy Hunting for Sensual Overload!
Free Music Review: The best album of Bon Jovi Hit: 5 Stars
it's naturel...best of Bon Jovi with its music and also lyrics.. best of Sambora also with its super tones..not only stupid meaningless fast licks that most of the guitarists can do..the solo of 'my guitar lies bleeding in my arms'is wonderful also his acoustic solos in other songs are very good both in tone and in music...because it is not a commercial album most people don't recognize it and I guess that's better anyway....all of the songs are worth-listening to ..not only the singles that are released...I think even Bon jovi won't be able to make such an album again..this is the album that they give up stupid pop-rock (or what it is)songs....it's an album that you should listen to from the beginning to the end at one time...the only bon jovi album that I'll put it in my top ten ever list
Free Music Review: Quite possibly Bon Jovi's best album Hit: 5 Stars
Ignore all the negative reviews you ever read or heard aboutthis album.(...) This album is fantastic. Yes, this record has a morestripped down, modern sound than Slippery When Wet or New Jersey, but that does not mean they have compromised any of their musical integrity in making this album. In fact, New Jersey and Slippery When Wet are probably way more commercial endeavours than this album (not that they aren't awesome). And this is coming from a die-hard 80s rocker/guitarist. The lyrical writing is among the best I've ever heard on any album by any band, although it does lean toward being depressed or brooding. Richie Sambora has amazing guitar tone, and the production is fantastic all around. If you are a fan of rock and roll and great musicianship, buy this album! You won't regret it!
