Free Music Notes for These DaysFree Music Review: A refreshingly fresh album from a cliche artist Hit: 5 Stars
Bon Jovi always wrote cliche songs and were very successful doing this. It seems like the band either weren't willing to or were not allowed to expand their music and wade into uncharted waters. However, they tried once to do something refreshingly different-the result was this album. If I would ever listen to a Bon Jovi album, this would be it. In fact, this is the only Bon Jovi album I ever bought.
This album is great! Songs in this album deal with more tangible topics-like anybody's everyday life. The album shows how mature the band really is and how badly they wanted to carve a place of their own. Too bad for them, this album failed commercially-I still don't understand why.
Buy this album. This might probably be the one Bon Jovi album truely worth your money.
Free Music Review: A very underrated CD Hit: 5 Stars
This is my favorite Bon Jovi CD. Usually there are a couple of songs on an album that I could live without, but not on this one. I like them all. The tunes range from the rock sounding "Hey God" to more melancholy songs like "My Guitar Lies Bleeding" or "Diamond Ring." This album shows a more personal, intimate side of the group. "These Days" has been unfairly compared to "Slippery When Wet" and criticized for being too commercial. I don't think it deserved either. This is the only album Bon Jovi produced as a quartet. It's a healing album. Songs like "Something For the Pain" and "Something to Believe In" show some of the feelings of the group. Give this one a fair listen.
Free Music Review: In my opinion - the BEST Bon Jovi album out there! Hit: 5 Stars
I am a huge fan. I love all their stuff from the 80's to the 90's.... I'll admit: their new album Have a Nice Day is pretty crappy. Bounce wasn't all that great either. However, These Days is a perfect CD. Every song is written incredibly, the lyrics are thoughtful, and the song quality in general is very high. Funny too because this album didnt really have any hit singles, yet it is so amazing.. says something about just how good Bon Jovi is. Anyways, listen to this album. It's their best. You won't be disappointed.
I just wish reviewers would comment on the "remastered" aspect of this particular album, since I only have the original and would like to know how this remastered version sounds.
Free Music Review: Should be SIX stars for this Hit: 5 Stars
There are 2 Bon Jovi's. 1 is the party fun hard rocking band producing such songs as Prayer, Lay our Hands etc, and then there are the Bon Jovi who made These Days. This album is just amazing song writing, social commentary and emotional turmoil delivered is incredible. Then the production is raw and basic sounding like a real rock band. ALthough i listen to this CD without wanting to skip a single track they are al so good, Something To Believe In is the ultimate track on the album I understand that early fans dont like this album, which is fair enough - and it is deep and dark. But if you are into emotional music look no further This would be amongst my all time top 10 albums
Free Music Review: "These Days" an album by Bon Jovi Hit: 5 Stars
The album "These Days" by the band Bon Jovi is an excellent choice if you are feeling down and you need a release. The songs on this album are personal and real. The band made this album during a time of strife and hardship in their ties as a band and in their personal lives as well. In the song "It's Hard (Letting You Go)" you can hear the pain in the lead singers voice, and you know this album is personal to them. This album goes through the four steps of gievence: shock, denial, anger, acceptance. The songs on this album take the listener through their personal lives and it revels a side of the band not seen before and it touches people on a personal level.
